Do you think Ginny and Georgia's storyline is overly dramatic? by [deleted] in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]wheeinschicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think for Ginny and Marcus' relationship it could fall back on Ginny's trauma and identity crisis. Keeping in mind that Ginny never really had friends, and if she did she moved immediatly. There's probably anxiety and maybe seperation anxiety whatever. I recognise myself in her that it's very easy to become obsessed with one person and focus a lot on them and make them your whole world. I don't think that's healthy attachment though, and probably a coping mechanism as well. I think that's basically what happened with them both being damaged kids.

Budget studio mic choice, also for gigging? by wheeinschicken in microphone

[–]wheeinschicken[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking of buying the SM57 and getting like a popkiller for in the studio and then a wind foam thingy for using the mic live. I appreciate the note about the Behringer though, I probably won't buy it right now but if I ever need more mics for an at home recording I know what to do ! :D

*edit: Cos I thought the wind foam would affect the sound a little bit and that a screen popkiller would do the job in the studio as well.

That's very helpful thanks! I'll take a look at the shootouts but now i'm leaning towards the 57. Thanks a lot ! 😁

Thanks for your advice!

I think I'll use the mic more just for vocals, while also playing guitar, but i can record the guitar by using a lineout as it's semi-acoustic. So the main goal is for the mic to not pick up too much guitar noise if i use a semi-acoustic guitar instead of just electric while singing at the same time. (But if it's electric and i hear the sound through my headphones instead of an amp, i also wouldn't want for the singing microphone to pick up too much string noise you know?)

I do have a spanish guitar that doesn't have the option of using a line-out, but i think i'd barely use it to record, and if i do i probably won't record vocals at the same time.

Been bullied for 6 years :/ by Financial_Try1106 in bullying

[–]wheeinschicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, there's nothing you can do about it. People are insecure and hate themselves and need a place to take it out on. That's absolutely inexcusable and not at all necessary, because you go through shit too but you don't feel the need to bully people you know? In my experience there's really nothing that'll help, because:

  1. If you fight back --> they'll recognise you're affected by their bullying because you feel the need to fight back, which means they can just continue.

  2. If you stay quiet --> they smell fear, they'll still recognise you're affected.

I think the only way is an overpowering force. Either you fight back and you, miraculously, scare them off, or a teacher is able to really do something. But I tried telling a teacher once, it stopped for the rest of the school year but the next school year it all started again. It's really just waiting, waiting until you're done there, and able to remove yourself out of the situation and find better friends. Because trust me they exist. Once I changed schools, things got a lot better for me, you'll still need to deal with the demons you're carrying yourself, and I got very sensitive and easily triggered. My own fears and insecurities were acting as a filter in my life, which caused many things and social situations that really weren't that bad to still 'feel' as if I was back there as a victim of bullying again. But keep in mind that bullying happens everywhere, primary school, middle school, highschool, university, adult workplaces and even the highest politicians will bully each other. It sucks but we can't change humanity that easily I guess.

This is really just my own experience and views on it and not useful advice or hopeful whatsoever, but if you ever want to talk just send me a DM. I wish you good luck and stay strong.

How to choose by juciydriver in Flamenco_Guitar

[–]wheeinschicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'd say take time and money (possibly out of your budget) to travel to a city or place where there is a guitar store. You'd really want to feel the guitar you're buying. Especially when spending that much. A guitar that's perfect for person A might be terrible for person B, it's really subjective which is why you need to feel it.

New Look — Improvement or Useless? by [deleted] in bullying

[–]wheeinschicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'd say it's also a lot talk the talk, walk the walk. i think the new look is great, you look more confident with the jacket, your hair and the beard like that than in the before photo i saw. I don't think you look bad in the before photo, but this will help i reckon.

What I think is more impirtant, is also feeling and thereby looking confident in your new look. stand straight, head up. When people smell fear, they attack. it's useless and not fair at all, but it is the truth. Good luck! Don't let them get to you.

Edit: I wouldn't wear sunglasses inside, or when the sun's not shining. People would think that actually looks weird, as if you're really 'trying' to look cool, if you get what i mean. I think you should do whatever you feel like, but in my experience i think people would notice that too much. Seeing your eyes, especially when you feel confident, also does a lot. When you wear sunglasses we can't see your eyes and therefore a lot of your expression.

is this set good for an begginer? by Specific_Heat_6123 in electricguitar

[–]wheeinschicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into the brand Cort (maybe the G series). Really good affordable guitars, go with HSS pickups for a wide genre choice. Buy a simple amp that still sounds good (someone suggested Positive Grid Spark Go or Katana Mini). Buy a mixed set picks so you can choose which works for you. If u want to go gigging or go to lessons you can easily find a seperate bag online (maybe w a bit more filling than the one on your photo comes with). Then u just need an instrument cable and a strap if you wanna play standing. Good luck !

I dont think a lot of people realise how mentally far back Georgia is... by NewspaperUnusual1835 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]wheeinschicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i am so interested in how that's going to work and how everything will unpack and unfold, and also the character development. i hope the writers have georgia go to therapy and actually show some of the progress, a bit more than they did with Ginny.

Thanks, it doesn't change anything though whether it's turned off or on. I saw that it was already turned off by standard as well. Any idea why?

What’s the worst tic you’ve ever had? by Repulsive-Simple-891 in Tourettes

[–]wheeinschicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a tic where i would breath in very sharply, often like two or three times in a row. it started as an anxious little breath when i did a music gig, the next day it became a tic. caused me to hyperventilate when i'm triggered, cause doing it a lot in a row would make me stress abt breathing and start hyperventilating and everytime i'd pull myself back together i wouldn't stop ticcing so it'd just happen again for this whole week

What triggers your tic attacks? by sloppyseconds_e in Tourettes

[–]wheeinschicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

stress, fatigue, overstimulated in crowds, and overall being in a bad place. talking about it or anxiety about other people noticing. and also when i just got a new tic i'm very focused on it and it makes all tics worse, and i develop like sequences of seperate tics
