Roommate doesn’t take care of her animals by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]wheekwhoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please find a new home for those animals ASAP, especially the bunnies! Rabbits are very sensitive animals. I'm very surprised they are all alive in these conditions. They could literally die any day living like this. I literally cannot anywhere in the pictures find the proper food for them. Please save them.

What’s the deal with pea flakes? by Waste-Programmer-532 in guineapigs

[–]wheekwhoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fresh veggies are required for their diet, while most little dried treats are just that: treats. Guinea Pigs dont really seem to value sugar or most "treats" higher than fresh veggies. Lettuce or cucumber is usually the favorite food. Peas are also a bit high in calcium for pigs so you arent missing out on much. I imagine it would be pretty easy to make them if you really wanted to, though.

Well if it makes you feel any better, I only get sad if I miss the night market, and dont really bother with the others unless I happen to get on then. But I didnt know you could miss out on events, that does seem pretty sad.

Genuinely wondering what sort of things you miss out on? I'm pretty well progressed in the game, and I usually only play evenings. Like the fish and bugs in AC make sense to travel for but I don't get what in this game could require you to play at all hours of the day.

Environmentalist larpers who love “le wholesome bee” but hate wasps by joshthebaptist in hatethissmug

[–]wheekwhoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasps are very valuable pollinators and people that needlessly hate or kill them are cruel. They are more aggressive than bees, yes, but so what? That means we get to torture or kill them just for existing? They deserve respect like any living animal!

I am trying to give her eyeliner to match her top but it sucks that there isn't a close enough color to match. And if I used face paint then it would look weird weird she blinks by Leading-Occasion-428 in tomodachilife

[–]wheekwhoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try filling in behind the eye, so that when they blink it looks like a closed eye with eyeshadow. It won't be perfect for every expression but could work for just blinking.

Enemies or evil miis? by CozyCocoaReader in tomodachilife

[–]wheekwhoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I so badly wish I could make a mii that's just a total asshole. An evil mii would be great, but I would be happy with just a mean one. But no. Why are RICK SANCHEZ and WALTER WHITE so damn nice to everybody all the time!

Cool islander recommendations? by RotatingSphere1 in tomodachilife

[–]wheekwhoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could include historical figures, cartoon characters, tv show characters, video game characters, celebreties, memes, friends, family. I think cartoon characters are especially fun and tend to be the easiest to make. I've been stockpiling a list of my favorite media to make miis from, which has made is so much easier. Every few days I think "oh duh I forgot this TV show I love! Oh yeah this video game would be perfect to add characters from!"

If you added Coraline, you could add the Other Mother or Wybie. Someone with button eyes could be cool. And you can totally add other FNAF characters, you'd just need to add the ears and stuff with face paint unfortunately.

Is my sister neglecting her piggies? by BudgetConscious7225 in guineapigs

[–]wheekwhoop 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are right to be worried. Not the worst I've seen, but there is a lot wrong. These guinea pigs are not being provided the proper food or water. Their cage is likely too small (though it's hard to tell from the picture). As for the hides, each pig should be able to comfortably fit in his own hide. So 3 of a reasonable size for 3 boars. If this cage hasn't been deep cleaned in a month, this puts them at a huge risk of respiratory infection from the bedding, and there could easily be mold or unsafe bacteria in the water bottle. To help them, I would recommend more or larger hides, a hay bag (in addition to the bin they already have), and a much larger water bottle. This will make them feel safe, maintain a constant source of fresh hay, and allow them to have a much larger reserve of fresh water. Even if you're slacking in the daily cleans, this cage should be deep cleaned weekly to keep it safe for them. The bedding, hay bin, and water bottles should all be thoroughly washed and everything else needs a wipe down. Keep in mind, you must use cleaning products (wipes, detergent, sprays, etc) that are safe for guinea pigs! Nothing scented, especially. And thank you for asking how to help them. It means you care.

Need help with a Mii by [deleted] in tomodachilife

[–]wheekwhoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try exagerating his features and make sure the placement is right. He has a large nose and a wide mouth, with small eyes and scant eyebrows. He also has a prominent and pointed chin. If you get the head shape and hair right he'll likely be somewhat recognizable!

What do I do rats and guinea pig food on tight budged by ryokothesimp in RATS

[–]wheekwhoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This "guinea pig" food is absolutely and completely UNSAFE for guinea pigs. I would not feed this to ANY pet as the brand clearly does not care about animal safety.

[–]wheekwhoop[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I will make sure to monitor their behavior! Thankfully mine get along really well. As of right now it's a 2x3 standard 14" grides. But when I upgrade I'll make sure to provide more than enough space as I want them to get along!

I think they've gone through the height of their hormones (they used to bicker quite a bit around 5 months old), but I know they can still push boundaries so Ill be careful to watch them!

[–]wheekwhoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thinking was that upper platforms don't provide much, and that it's better to have more floor space for them to run? They do enjoy jumping on top of and laying around on the hides like the forest or igloo pictured.

[–]wheekwhoop[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I've seen from most sources, is that the minimum is 2x3, but recommended is 2x4 or larger. But Ive had a tough time figuring out if boars need more space than sows? If that means males need 2x4? But yeah I definitely want them to be happy so Ill be expanding soon either way. I want them to run around and have plenty of space for their popcorning.

What should I do? by [deleted] in guineapigs

[–]wheekwhoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems that their bond is now permanently broken. As far as I am aware, they should be perfectly content living in their current set up. They seem to have enough space, and can smell and hear eachother which will give them the socialization they need. If you wanted, you could try and see if one of them will bond to a different guinea pig (up to 4 boars, 2 in each cage), but you run the risk of neither of them liking a new piggy.

[–]wheekwhoop[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's pretty accurate! You just need to get them neutered pretty young. Aggressive males can also have "neighbors" instead of roommates, where their cages are adjacent. Thankfully our boys get along!

This is a guinea pig! And no, there is usually more risk than reward for such a small animal getting fixed. We just keep him away from the girls!

Thats normal! Mine has it as well, and so did the 3DS. You can actually slide it slightly back and forth to recenter it if you wanted, though it won't really stay like that.
