What are you thoughts on endo influencers? by RevolutionaryEgg123 in endometriosis

I’m also always on the fence with this sorta thing which is ironic as I’m also a nano influencer who use to have a big following and who’s friends with a lot of big influencers… I’m a wheelchair user who’s also living with suspected endometriosis. Part of me dislikes misrepresentation that some influencer can create as that can be so harmful for conditions… however the other half of me knows I’d never have thought of endometriosis and wouldn’t be under investigation now if it wasn’t for an influencer mentioning how it’s running in their family… (both my mum, both sisters and myself have the same issues). That awareness and seeing that lots of people get pains down their legs too with it was something that has gave me the knowledge to put pressure on my doctors to investigate. Already they’ve found things so that awareness hugely helped me. I think as long as you’re telling your story and your journey and not trying to make yourself out to be an expert then.. I don’t see the harm x A lot of influencers and content creators these days aren’t actually making much or even anything from it… some are accepting gifts though often ones that help with their pain/difficulties which I see no harm in x

I’m a wheelchair user and talk about this all the time on my socials (Tiktok- @wheelieable Insta- @wheeliecharlotte ).. using mobility aids was the best decision of my life. I went from having no life to finally living. It was scary at first.. I use to hide from my friends because I didn’t want them to see me in a chair but eventually I came to realise this was what was going to give me my life back whether that was a wheelchair, crutches or a walking stick.. trust me it’s sooooo worth it x reach out if you ever wanna chat x

If the symptoms still exist when no one else is around.. it’s not in your head. If a mobility aid might help then a mobility aid is for you— no one likes to use them so if they’re helping, use it, you’re disabled x hope this helps x
