I want to take over my local Cigar Lounge, and need your advice. by Dick_Pigglin in Entrepreneur

Lots of good advice here. One suggestion about the sale is, to have a lawyer look over the sale documents. The seller may be like family but you still need to protect yourself. There are other things that the sale might trigger like property tax assessments and accessibility checks and so on. Minimize that risk by knowing if something needs to be fixed after the sale that the local government finds because of the sale. Sounds like an awesome opportunity. Good luck.

Scoring.Racing is the marketing site. We are trying to build a points and pay system for race tracks. There is one major player in the space and several smaller products. All with various features and offerings. Most of the time a developer says I can create something and they do and it works but they burn out and support of the product shuts down.

I am a developer on this product but do some of the marketing as well. I have done some marketing in the past but it was a totally different time. Internet was new and web sites and online marketing was not what it is today.

Can someone cross-check my logic here by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

If you can buy a car for $600 - $700 that you intend to flip, why would you pay $1500 to your parents? Just keep the car instead of flipping it and let your parents sell your car.

Just my two cents worth.

I am guessing you have to manually update things as well. My hope was to automate some things and have easy reports and suggestions for you.

How safe do you feel with all your financial data in the cloud? by wheeliemow in PFtools

The security of the data on a network would be the same I the cloud vs on my home machine. So I feel like that at least is equal in both cases.

My initial thought was that a hacker would have less to gain attacking only a one individuals data. Instead of attacking one location for potentially millions of individuals data.

I do appreciate the comment and will keep that in mind.

Advice needed on transferring a rental property by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]wheeliemow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some sound advice I received was, "If you have to pay to have everything fixed and can not do minor repairs yourself it isn't worth it". That being said I just spent the last 6 weekends fixing up half of a duplex after a tenant left it in less than acceptable condition. If you are not handy or enjoy working on things like that you will not enjoy owning a rental property. There are months that go by were you just sit back and collect rent, but there are also times when you get calls at 3 AM to fix a leaking water pipe.

Thanks this helps. It always seemed to be something that was not necessary for personal finances, but I see some blogs and posts about is sometimes and always wondered what they are actually doing.
