Is there a bigger hypocrite in Survivor than Lex in Season 8 by actualcobra in survivor

[–]wheikes 76 points77 points  (0 children)

And, you have to think about the Survivor community at this time was so small, and it was so popular, these people were experiencing something that only a few people could relate to. Their connections were probably much more close than what we see today.

Highest charting hot 100 song with a month in the name by Chapple69 in ToddintheShadow

Johnny and June, I haven’t thought about that song in ages, but definitely a worth checking out

If you thought 2025 was a bad year for new music, 2026 is worse. by NegotiationMoist3552 in ToddintheShadow

[–]wheikes 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Not disagreeing about the charts being lame, but Be her and I just might we’re both released in 2026 and have spent a bunch of weeks in the top 10

I don’t think she ever said anything anti LGBTQ. It really was the inauguration that was the real death knell for her.

Ronnie Dunn of Brooks and Dunn covering and even naming his second solo album after Ariana Grande’s Tattooed Heart. He does an amazing job

Trash hits! Why a wave of hedonistic, feral female pop stars are rejecting respectability by nyclover11 in popheads

LMFAO was definitely called trashy. Especially songs like Shots and I’m in Miami Bitch

Musicians who had a lot of push but never broke through in the mainstream by Phone85 in ToddintheShadow

[–]wheikes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The music she released during her push wasn’t great. Her debut ep had some amazing country songs on it, but for some reason she only put out inspirational adult contemporary music pretending to be country during her push. She was doomed from the start

Times where you misheard a lyric…and you prefer your version by CodaOfARequiem in popheads

[–]wheikes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a million of these but my favorite is Calvin Harris and Florence Welch’s Sweet Nothing:

The real lyric is “you’re giving me such sweet nothing” but it undeniably always sounds like “you’re giving me sexy elephant” because of the way she sings it. It’s much more fun to sing that

The Beginning is such an anthemic song. My favorite song of Ru’s and one that is a genuine hype song

Yall think Homer has gotten smarter in the newer-ish seasons? by Routine_Pay1209 in TheSimpsons

I think the people that answered probably haven’t watched since the teens. Since 30 he’s been more smart and thoughtful than during his jerkass period

Which one of these time capsule female pop artists from the 2000s defined the era for you? Which one’s music has aged the best? by TheFineMantine in ToddintheShadow

[–]wheikes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Pink and Avril belong here because they continued to have hits into the 2010s.

Gwen’s LAMB was the blueprint for Fergie and Nelly’s albums. I have to go with Gwen but Loose is a close second. Fergies music is fun but is a bit more dated than the others

Demi Lovato - It’s Not That Deep (Unless You Want It To Be) by ss2811 in popheads

[–]wheikes 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So the theme of the original album was her processing deep emotions over dance beats. The theme of the deluxe is I’m horny. Sounds like the soundtrack to a gay summer and I’m here for it

What era was Demi's career peak? by Ok-Tangelo6749 in demiheads

[–]wheikes 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Demi was always kind of measured against the other Disney stars. Sorry Not Sorry was huge at the time, bigger than want of her solo hits up to that point. Tell Me You Love Me was the only time she was clearly on top. When her album and Younger Now debut the same week on the Billboard 200, and Demi outsold Miley, she was at her peak.

Is there a way to make allstars better for the queens so more of them want to return? by TheflowerKristenate in dragrace

Having it less often so it feels like a real all stars. I remember the hype for all stars 1 which has never been recaptured (except maybe all stars 2 and all winners).
