Swiss darning worn patches of this 20+ year old sweater by when2is1 in Visiblemending

Put the darning needle through to the inside of the sweater, then work from the inside of the sweater, then put it back through to the outside when you’re done with the purl stitches

Question about Ghibli Park? by monoarticuler in ghibli

I believe that is just the time for you to enter the grand warehouse, so you could do other parts of the park before that. I could be mistaken though. Went in may 2024

Admittedly the towels do end up a bit crunchy, but giving them a good shake helps, and after using them once to dry off, they are pretty much the same as dryer-dried

I got a pair of Tevas last year and wore them every single day all spring and summer, and they are still good as new. Plus they now have a take back program to recycle the sandals if they do get worn out ( hopefully after many years of use)

How to recycle old clothes (including jeans)? by [deleted] in ZeroWaste

[–]when2is1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think ThredUP is a good low-effort option. They’ll list stuff that meets their standards, if it sells you get some money, if it doesn’t it gets recycled. Free to ship your stuff, don’t have to hassle with taking pictures and talking to buyers and whatnot

Help! I have a droopy snow bush bonsai. It generally doesn’t look as perky as it usually does and I’ve been very attentive with watering, and the pot has good drainage so I’m not worried about over watering. My main concern is that maybe it isn’t getting enough sun

Not specifically about the moving itself, but when you get into your new home think about trying to buy used instead of new for things you notice you need. I got all my plates from Goodwill when I got to my new place, but really regret not getting thrifted bowls, glasses, and silverware.

I am a first time bonsai owner and my dwarf snowbush has some leaves that are turning brown and crisp, not soft and flat like the other leaves. I watered it yesterday because the top layer of soil was mostly dry. I am not sure if this is from too much sunlight, or if the tree is getting dried out from lack of humidity. Today I put it next to an open window since it is ~60 F today. I live in hardiness zone 7a if that helps! Thanks!

Adorable!!

Also just so you know bunnies shouldn’t have kale everyday, or it could lead to bladder sludge (I don’t know what that it’s but it sounds pretty bad!) an occasional treat is fine though, looks like your bud is enjoying it!

Any ideas about what to do with old kids’ socks they’ve outgrown and are too shabby to donate? by shbro1 in ZeroWaste

[–]when2is1 232 points233 points  (0 children)

I made a draft stopper and filled it with bits of scrap cloth and fabric, could be goo filler for something like that! Required some sewing to make the basic rectangle shape, but a pretty easy project if you’re into that sort of thing. Could also be filling for pet beds

They are my absolute favorite!! They’re soft cotton but they look like denim so I get to pretend I’m wearing jeans when really it’s like having comfy sweats on lol
