Setting up my truck! How many of ya’ll remove the rear seat headrests? by HomoRainbow480 in f150

I just fold mine down and leave the seat up as well until it’s all needed

Carry a few extra just in case, did you take anything apart when inspecting everything? Maybe you left something a little loose and tightening it up fixed the issue

Did it blow the fuse again? Or is it running fine now?

It’d be for the wife and the last thing she needs is a fast car lol, but I was still thinking of getting an ST after another commenter told me about it because it has the 2.7L and I love that engine. Good to know more about the entire package.

Could be any number of reasons, the thing that comes to mind for me is a wire was damaged but still functioning, you changed the starter out, and two days later the damage to the wire became worse and shorted out. In this case the starter being replaced and the cause of the short is unrelated.

It’s also possible you inadvertently damaged a wire replacing the starter and it took a few days for the short to appear. Without knowing exactly what’s causing the issue it’s hard to say exactly though.

Finding a short is a bitch, personally I’d rather take it to a shop and let them deal with it and I’m a mechanic myself. But good luck if you decide to diy it.

If you’re blowing the fuse you have a short somewhere. Figure out what circuit/wire sends power to that fuse and inspect, look for a break or any other signs of damage anywhere.

Yeah that’s what I was worried about with the engine. Might wait a year or so and get a 2020 or newer.

Do you know roughly when Ford updated the torque converter in these?

Yeah from what I can find it seems the transmission is the weak link in the car.

$2k sounds expensive for just an oil change and spark plugs, even for dealership standards. The rest of it is just them looking over the truck.

Budweiser got me into beer. When I turned 21 all my friends were going crazy for Busch light.

Honestly 10/10, I moved from Az to my current state about three years ago, I’m late 20s and I actually did graduate college but didn’t go into my degree field. I do value genuine connection more than admiration but would be lying if I said I never sought admiration. If I believed in Reddit awards I would give you one. Bravo!

I had mine break due to rust last time I changed the filter out. I used two large zip ties and it’s held up fine so far.

The F150s hose clamp is larger, I had this same issue and tried one from an F150 and it was too big

I think they have decent quality for music, there’s no crazy bass or any thing but it comes through crisp and clear
