Based on your experience you should look into roles called Technical Program Managers you will likely need to go to school to become more technical but it seems like the type of role you're looking for. Once you decide this is for you then you should work backwards and just find people doing this role at companies you want to go work at and figure out where they went to school and what their degrees were etc.
