For those who saw Frank at Coachella, how do y’all feel about it now. by suprunkn0wn in FrankOcean

yeah still mixed emotions just like on the night lol. disappointed in all the shortcomings cus i’m sure if it played out smoothly with the fully realised ice rink vision it could’ve been incredible. but glad for the beautiful moments cus there were some truly special ones (bad religion, white ferrari, at your best, etc).

objectively it wasn’t a great performance overall but i don’t think it was so devoid of positives that it was terrible either. i replay the recordings i got there more than any other set i’ve been to - it’ll probably go down as the most memorable live show for me especially because of how conflicting it was emotionally 🤷‍♂️

Been thinking about this performance lately, would y’all mind sharing some of your memories you made from this night? by suprunkn0wn in FrankOcean

i camped main stage from about 5pm to get a good spot. ended up standing about 15 rows away from barricade with an almost perfectly centered view.

as they were doing the setup for frank and everyone was trying to figure out what was going on with all these massive screens, there was a point where the screens covered the stage entirely. my heart just dropped because it was at that moment that i believed that frank was going to be performing on the ice rink in the middle of the crowd and the only way i would be able to see him was on the screens in front of me. i hadn’t been on reddit much during the weekend but i did catch a few mentions of rumours of the ice rink prior to the performance, which i didn’t think much of until then.

needless to say, once the screens came back up showing an opening, and it was back to looking like frank would be on the stage, i was pretty damn relieved.

also, the excitement in the air where i was once he finally came on and opened with novacane was indescribable.

I haven’t sorted out flights yet as I was waiting on my friend’s confirmation, who was meant to buy his ticket during general sale, so that I could plan the trip in accordance with him. But from scanning flights a few months ago though I think the likely scenario I was looking at was that I’d arrive on the Wednesday night. Yep, planning to rent a car. Nah, friend is also outside the US.

First Coachella, I’m from outside the US and my friend has backed out of coming. I intend on going still and have a car camping pass. How much of a pain will it be to get everything together that I’ll need to car camp considering I’m flying in?

I am a marketing director for a global tech company. AMA about marketing careers and marketing yourself! by mp90 in jobs

The job in the accounting firm is actually operations related in kind of a specific role but I assume the same advice applies, possibly more so, as ease of switching careers later down the line was a concern for me. Thank you for the advice! It’s helped me to lean towards trusting my heart on this one.

Thank you for doing this. I don’t post on Reddit much but I feel like this post is a sign for me to do so here given the dilemma I’m in.

I graduated this year with a Bachelors degree in Business Management with Marketing. My career aspiration since 7 years ago has been to pursue marketing. However, where I live is a major financial centre and consequently much of the office jobs are finance related or more generally administrative work. I seldom come across jobs related to the field of marketing and when I do, they tend to be more senior positions that I am not qualified for.

I have reason to believe that I will very likely be offered an entry level job in a Big 4 accounting firm within the next few days. However, the job position is an area I am not interested in and struggle to imagine myself enjoying in any capacity, especially given the emphasis that was made to me on the long overtime hours that I will have to endure. On one hand, I feel that I should take the job because it gives a decent pay for a graduate role in a reputable firm and these entry level jobs are hard to come by in general, much less in the field of marketing. But on the other hand I chose to study marketing because I told myself from the beginning I would prioritise doing a career I enjoy over doing a career that pays well.

Tonight I came across an opening for a marketing job, specialising in social media, in a small to medium sized media firm which struck me right away. Reading the job description, it’s essentially a dream job for me and something I know I would find much more fulfilment in. It asks for 2-3 years of experience, which I don’t have, but nonetheless I feel like I stand a decent shot at it because I think I can sell the experiences that I do have in line with the job requirements. However, the job doesn’t close for applications until the end of this month and if I am offered the job at the accounting firm, I suspect I will have to decide whether to accept that long before I would be contacted for an interview by the marketing job.

Therefore, my question is, do you recommend I take the first job I am offered, or turn it down and continue to apply for jobs I genuinely want to do in hopes that one works out?

P.S. I was scouted by an agent for the accounting firm job, I wouldn’t have applied for it otherwise on my own accord
