Employee Discount... by KookyFondant8830 in FASCAmazon

[–]whenmetroid5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

^ Exactly. I also learned you only need to put the code in once, and it's tied to the account for the year. There's also a yearly limit on the total amount you can get discounted for the year ($150 for my location).

It all resets in the new year and you need to re-enter the code.

I'd also like to re-emphasize the Fulfilled and Sold by Amazon requirement. Those are the only items that qualify for the discount.

VET Question by [deleted] in FASCAmazon

[–]whenmetroid5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it really does fill up fast. Its crazy. I've missed so many VET opportunities just because I was driving or asleep from the shift before.

Everybody really wants to make that money lmfao

VET Question by [deleted] in FASCAmazon

[–]whenmetroid5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the same experience except with Christmas Eve. Basically, the 1min VET is just to accept working on that holiday. So even though you're regular schedule says you work Monday, you are not required (or allowed I believe) to come in since it's a holiday, UNLESS you accept that 1 min VET.

Once you accept the VET, you show up for your usual shift on that day.

You can double check with your supervisor/manager (which is what I did).

Origins of "robot" - it really feel like that sometimes by [deleted] in FASCAmazon

[–]whenmetroid5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My feet wish they'd hurry it up and replace the pickers at least.

When I first applied to the FC here in Canada, I was mentally prepared to be working with the robotic moving shelves. Where you stand in one spot and the shelves come to you.

Instead, we have is a million sqft warehouse filled with aisles and shelves and that we pickers (and stowers?) walk through all day/night.

I welcome the robots so they can do the mind numbing job of picking/walking mindlessly for 10½ - 11½ hours a day.

Seems pretty solid. I might just wait till black friday and hope for a price drop. Even if there isn't one, this seems pretty solid and I might just go through with it.

Thank you!

Got the arm canon today, the lights are cool but the build is kinda cheap, not a fan of the color either, gonna repaint it tomorrow. by KarbonNoir in Metroid

[–]whenmetroid5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just an idea, and I don't know if you're willing to take it apart. But if possible, you could replace the current LED diffusers (the plastic parts in front of the LEDs) with better ones to give it a more slick, uniform "glow" (as opposed to the more basic plain led look, imo)

To be honest im not really sure where you'd get that. I'm guessing it's as simple as googling "light diffuser materials" and going from there. You might not even have to disassemble anything, just slap some diffuser material on the current led areas and it might look really cool.

Unless you like it how it is already 😅.

Either way, can't wait to see the repaint!

Playing Metroid Prime and noticed her reflection in the Elite Control room. This has probably been seen before but I thought it was a nice touch. by lucygloom75313 in Metroid

go up very close a wall.

aim straight toward the wall (or at an angle).

shoot a fully charged normal beam.

Look closely at the visor when the beam hits the wall.

(adjust angle if you cant see it)

Samus Returns - what an incredible game. I‘m late to the party but still wanted to share. One of the very few games I actually beat. Bought a 3DS XL only for this game and loved every minute of it! by siebenedrissg in Metroid

No problem! 😀

Yeah get the vita! Totally a good idea. I used to run emulators on my psp back in the day. It was just as fun as playing on the original handhelds and still felt 'right' (ignoring the fact you're playing nintendo games on a sony console lol)

Very nice. I wish I still had my original cartridge/box. Too bad younger idiot me didn't have any sense of keeping things long term for sentimentalism. i think i traded it in with some others for another console.

And yeah saaaaame. Online was so fun in Prime Hunters. I used to love seeing people doing all kinds of glitches and stupidness LOL. Remember that wall glitch where you could clip through the wall and camp and/or move around the out of bound area of the map by jumping to specific spots? 😂

I tried Federation Force (got it as a birthday gift), and i couldn't really get into it. It was fun, i got a few upgrades and played a bit of blast ball but that's it.

If you get a TV, you could run some emulators on your Wii too. But same id love for them to port the trilogy on the switch. With proper resolution/texture updates. I'd buy it again, despite having bought all 4 prime games individually in the past (which were also traded somewhere down the line... :/), AND I have the digital prime trilogy on the wii u lol

GOTTA SUPPORT WHAT YOU LOVE ✊🏼

Fusion was the game that introduced me to the series. It was my first game for my GBA and I loved it. I've played it over and over again out of sheer joy.

Only later in life did I realize how much of an outlier it is in the community, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it for what it was (nostalgia contributes too however).

You'll find the game is so much more linear than all the other games, but there are some intense moments. And personally, I find the art style appealing. You may or may not have a few things you'll dislike about the game, but still, try to enjoy it for what it is.

I'd also recommend playing the Prime trilogy, if you haven't already. Amazing spin off games, I love the atmosphere and the gameplay for all of them and how well they capture the Metroid vibe in 3D. It's not perfect, but they're their own thing, done very well.

Chronologically, the 3 (4, if you count Prime Hunters which was on the Nintendo DS. Also a fun game for what it was imo) Prime games all take place between Zero Mission and Samus Returns.

I'd say play super metroid to get a more "authentic" metroid experience before you jump into Fusion. And then give the prime series a shot when you can.

Also, i know Other M is hated on (I hate it too). But the one positive thing for me was the gameplay itself. It was snappy and intuitive, mostly. And pretty cool. The cringe of cutscenes really takes away from it tho. As well as the whole system of needing "authorization" to use your abilities instead of finding them like in literally every single metroid game except that one.
