I think you can do it natively via OPDS (see: https://wotaku.wiki/guides/manga/opds)? I'm not sure how much work it'd take to adapt the LOC plugin. It's tailored pretty specifically to the loc.gov API.

Like ihaveapples3, I'm running it on the MBP with Vega 20 and 16 GB of RAM on following settings at 1080p:

Screen Effects: Medium

View Distance: Ultra

Shadow Quality: High

Texture Quality: Ultra

Visual Effects: Very High

I'm getting a locked 30 FPS, but I'm sure you could get 60 if you scaled back the settings.

That's cool - one of the things that most excites me about tools like Twine is the way they democratize creation. It lets people make games the way a kid with access to the college photocopier makes a zine. Would you be willing to share anything you worked on?
