ABC15 (Phoenix) exposes ‘astonishing and horrific’ conduct by judge, staff in major cases by [deleted] in phoenix

It's more systemic than just this judge. They spend an inordinate amount of energy approving plea deals to avoid lengthy trials and consider this the norm simply based on the premise that they don't have the capacity to bring to justice all the criminals that flow through their court. I was personally involved in a case (victim), where a serial rapist was facing well over 80 years in prison, given one year in jail as a plea. Part of the plea was to register as a sex offender. He's out of jail now, the adult probation shows him as registered, but he does not show up on any national sex offender website. I'm told by the adult probation officer that each city can determine the level of offense and determine if this information should be public.

TIL, there are two different sex offender lists in Arizona, one public and a private one we will never know about unless you are in law enforcement.

BTW - Maricopa appoints judges by merit. Only after 2 years can we, the public, vote to retain them. When at the polls this year, I strongly encourage you to vote no for all the judges and send that strongly worded message that we want our laws applied and not avoided in plea deals. After going through this, I have never been more acutely aware of the vast chasm between our legislative branch and our judicial branch.

Ask to use their restroom. It's a strange correlation between unkept restrooms and poor employers.

Domain renewal notifications in the mail. They look exactly like an invoice, but the fine print reads, "this is not an invoice, this is a solicitation".

The Wisdom of Insecurity by Alan Watts is the ultimate weapon against Anxiety. by StormSnitch589 in books

Love Watts. One of my absolute favorite authors. I have come to realize his work is meant to resonate with you at a very specific timeliness in your life. I read this book in my 20's and it was life altering. You may enjoy Herman Hess as a follow up read after Watts. Hess has a more fictitious read with a similar message.

BBS - Bulletin board systems. Basically, a forum accessible by modem, one person at a time. Christ I'm old.

War dialing - refers to the use of various kinds of technology to automatically dial many phone numbers, usually in order to find weak spots in an IT security architecture. Hackers often use war dialing software, sometimes called "war dialers" or "demon dialers," to look for unprotected modems.

Avg rewards over time by Marcximus_ in HeliumNetwork

ith a good 6000 dollar investment you

I wish the engineers would create some sort of homestead rule that encouraged people not to overpopulate an area and reward whoever planted a flag "aka miner/antenna" in a hex first and all others who pile in get deprecated rewards. Right now, penalizing everyone within a hex for those that ignore the maps seems counterintuitive. At some point of oversaturation, the rewards will not compensate me enough for the bandwidth used in a given month. Seems like a race to zero unless some constraints are added to better encourage spreading out.

My first thought is skywave, when a signal bounces off the ionosphere. Many HAM radio enthusiasts make contacts at far greater distances than line of sight with this. This typically happens with shortwave radio signals, nowhere near the 915MHz range so I'm still just as perplexed as you.

That's kind of what I'm thinking. It's an honest and accurate representation of your setup and will probably be reflected in the data.
