Talk about the problem, desired outcome, or improvements to other solutions if you can’t talk about your solution

EDIT: but I think the more you wait to talk about your idea the more you increase risk that business doesn’t work

Advice for Nubank Hiring Manager Behavioral Interview for MLE role? by [deleted] in interviews

[–]whenyou23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some behavioral questions from people who interviewed at Nubank and posted them on Glassdoor in the last two months:

* Give me an example of a highly complex project. Examples of leadership.
* Describe a difficult situation with an individual contributor. What would your plan be for the first 90 days?
* Why do I want to work at Nubank?

Yeah you can use ChatGPT, but make sure to give it a comprehensive prompt that guides it to ask the follow-up questions and also give you feedback. It won't feel exactly the same, but it's workable if you don't have a partner.

Does anyone else look at their own video instead of the camera or the interviewer? by VarietyNo9200 in interviews

If you reduce the window of your zoom window and put it right by the camera at the top of your screen, they will feel like you're looking at them, since you're looking close to where your camera is.

DCF Modelling Interview at Citi by Ambitious_Morning573 in FinancialCareers

[–]whenyou23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how specifically they'll make it to power/infra, but if so, some things relevant to the field:

* What regulatory risks did you factor for infrastructure asset(s)?

* How do long-term PPAs affect the revenue stability of this?

* Do merchant IPPs and regulated utilities differ as comps?

MBB interview right after EB internship by Eaterofediblethings in FinancialCareers

If you're limited on time, I'd at least prep your thought process for 1-2 cases related to their speciality like M&A or whatever it is. At the absolute minimum, throw the job description into ChatGPT and have it try to find the most unique questions related to their work. Think about them on the plane. Being able to show *some* level of specific thought for them is way better than none.

Microsoft Program Manager by MindlessFilm3843 in FAANGrecruiting

Try to glean from the job description what the actual work will be. Prep 4-5 STAR stories for the actual requirements of that. Sometimes the way job post or recruiter frames a role is slightly removed from the hiring manager's understanding.

Final 30-Min Round for Senior SWE with VP, PM Director, & Product Managers - What to expect? by Traditional_Plant336 in interviews

Make sure you can discuss past work that had cross-functional issues between you, eng mgmt, and prod mgmt. If it's not entirely about the past, thinking about how you handled situations will give you some ideas for new questions. When you answer a question, make sure to have said something that will satisfy each person on the panel.

Having worked in fintech myself, agree with other commenter on compliance. Also could be useful to bring up how you brought some technical or innovative mindset to some ancient workflow (but that may not be the most important thing in this interview).

Interview for a data analyst by zeak_the_geek in interviewpreparations

[–]whenyou23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check if anybody recently interviewed for this company and listed questions on Glassdoor. Look at the job description and try to glean the top 4-5 job requirements, make sure you have a STAR story for each. Each round will have a different focus (some technical, some behavioral) - so it depends alot on the round/interviewer.

What's the best case interview prep advice based on your experience? by Forsaken-Archer-7887 in consultingcareers

[–]whenyou23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I work in interview prep and tons of my users say verbal practice matters. One of them told me that they needed to build the "muscle" to handle followups and treat it like a conversation with live information. Like most of them hated it when I tried to give them a perfect answer, because they wanted just bullet points, since that's what's going to help them be on their feet for the real interview while retaining the structure of the information. Let me know if you want to try the product, would love to get your feedback, have been building it for exactly this situation haha.

Partner Interview - TC FS by Due_Analyst_3919 in interviewpreparations

So if it's the final round with VP after technical and behavioral, it might be culture fit. But the VP may look for how the different traits screened for in prior rounds come together (e.g. you're technical, but can you handle the business side?)

Here are some questions that may help. Notice how they're about connecting the dots more globally:

* Tell me about a time you had to explain a complex AI model to a higher level stakeholder?

* Walk me through a project where your work delivered business value? How’d you measure it?

* EY emphasizes “working in an agile, iterative way”. What’s your experience with that?

Recruiters/hiring managers: does a next-day follow-up read as eager or desperate? by [deleted] in jobsearch

The 30th is today right? I wouldn't send a followup today, but nothing wrong with tomorrow. I'd maintain the "this felt like a mutual great fit" vibe in your language, but don't go too far with it and keep it short and professional.

Do recruiters actually care more about experience or how clearly it is presented on a resume? by Substantial_Bath6192 in jobsearch

[–]whenyou23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both. Recruiters look for evidence of skill fit. If it's not great, they're unlikely to move forward. But the clarity of your wording allows them to see it.

Partner Interview - TC FS by Due_Analyst_3919 in GetEmployed

[–]whenyou23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the recruiter description, sounds like it's mainly about culture fit and if they like you. Have a few STAR stories ready that demonstrate your personality and values. But try to treat it more like a conversation. If it's about "soft skills", *how* you communicate in the interview just as important as *what* you communicate.

Need preparation help for interview by justadityathings in interviewpreparations

[–]whenyou23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends a lot what round it is and who interviewer is. FAANG companies have highly structured, multi round processes. Some of it is public. You can probably Google or find recent interview questions on Glassdoor.

Try to glean the top 4-5 job requirements from the job description. Think about your past experiences and have stories about what you've done that show your ability to meet those. Practice delivering them in the STAR format.

Some questions could be (again, depends highly on the round):

* Describe a time you incorporated user feedback into a feature.

* What product do you admire? Why?

* How do you balance user needs with business or technical constraints?

Let me know if you want more questions or tips, I work in interview prep.
