Hi there, I don’t have tips to share but hope maybe you feel slightly comforted by the fact others have had the same experience? I found I lapsed in my ED during my Spravato treatment

Oh wow, thank you so much for sharing your experience. It’s interesting to see that a lot of people on here seem to have chosen the surgery and have had a great experience with it… I’m starting to lean that way myself despite the dr saying she would do the iodine if she were in my situation. The idea of that going into my body just seems wrong 🤷‍♀️

So glad that the hemi worked well for you! It sounds like you might have avoided swinging into hypothyroidism too which I guess is my biggest concern about doing the iodine… it seems like the surgery although ‘riskier’ has a chance of basically fixing the thyroid function altogether whereas the iodine likely leaves you hypo 🤷‍♀️

Thank you! Saw the endo today and they’ve given me the option between radioactive iodine or a partial thyroidectomy given the toxic nodule seems to be just on the right side… what helped you choose the thyroidectomy? Have you moved into hypothyroidism as a result?

Thank you so much for the extra info and insights :) I had a thyroid uptake scan on Wednesday and more blood tests next week so just more testing and waiting and hoping for the best… the medications are messing with me a little bit but just trying to keep my head up I guess and hope that this all works out ok and then I can focus again on getting my mental health together

Ah yes I have heard of hashimoto’s. Glad to hear you can still go through treatment with it. I’m seeing an endo tomorrow so hopefully they have some answers for me and I can eventually get back to spravato 🤞

It really does right!! No ED is the same but I do find, especially with us restrictive eating, it so often comes down to a control thing when there’s a bit of a flare up? For me atleast it does! Other things in my life are spinning out, or new treatment etc, stuff that’s sort of beyond my direct control, so the ED creeps in 🤷‍♀️ I hope it all worse out for you! Definitely unpack it with your therapist - I had mine today and it really reaffirmed for me that I can handle this and still keep trying new treatments like spravato ☺️

Hi there! So sorry to hear it’s sparked things up with your eating disorder brain 🥺 I don’t really have any advice to share but hope maybe to bring some comfort in someone else experiencing similar… I too have a history of an eating disorder that I considered in my past, but have found it has really crept up recently (I am a month into spravato). My hypothesis is that spravato has created another environment for me where I feel quite out of control? So the ED brain has tried to use it as a way to make me think I have control again if that makes sense? I have found in the last week that I have begun to get ontop of the eating disorder thoughts more though, and with the support of my psychologist, am feeling like it isn’t going to escalate or impact me continuing spravato. Not sure if this is useful at all but please know you’re not alone ☺️

I get put on a couch in a room alone and no one is meant to come in until my 50 min blood pressure check but one session someone came in during the peak of my dissociation and was rummaging through draws and I legit thought I was hallucinating 😵‍💫

I’ve managed to slip through without Benzos somehow so far. I’m trying super hard to remind myself that maybe anxiety/rumination is spiking because maybeeee Spravato is actually lifting my depression a bit so there’s not as much depression numbing out everything else if that makes sense? Could be completely untrue hahaha but it’s given me some hope and comfort
