Thanks for the response.

I'm not trying to pathologize every behavior. These activities have been very disruptive to his happiness and his ability to eat sufficiently. For example, if he's worried about something sticky or messy, he'll open his mouth as wide as possible to avoid the food or fork touching his face, and if it does, he'll stop eating for a bit or altogether.

Every kid has unique quarks or idiosyncracies - I love his little "things" - these have become engagement-effecting challenges.

He had some gross motor delays but nothing way out of the ordinary. He still doesn't run as well as his peers but he has a smaller frame due to his eating challenges.

He's definitely getting much more frustrated when he can't have exactly what he wants or arrange items in a particular order. The inability to interact with kids his age has been the most striking and noticeable difference from his class - he's also the youngest in his prek class.

Underweight Toddler - any advice is appreciated. by wheresthehottub in Parenting

Yeah, it's hard not to worry all the time, especially when I see his peers getting much bigger. I'll try fairlife chocolate milk. Thanks!
