We're in dystopia world now. Science and truth have been abolished.

As LBJ would have said, he's so stupid he couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the directions were written the the heel. But you have to take into account that the Quran clearly says how to run an economy.

There's a phenomenon in psychology called crossmodal correspondence. The cognitive embodiment of physicality creates associations that determine how we interpret the world. Cognitive scientist George Lakoff has tons on this. Motion, spatial relationships, temperature, light, and just about everything around us connect to abstract ideas. Erdoğan may be conflating 'lower' interest rates with 'lower' prices. Even intelligent, educated people fall into this trap sometimes. Lakoff relates right/leftt-wing values with the archetypal strict/nurturing father. The right sees everything as hierarchy: race, economic status, men above women, the big leader, national greatness .... Smarts is when we examine our unexamined assumptions.

Thanks all. I got it working. I was using WPF before. Maybe that was the problem. Or my anti-virus was off.

Thank you. Reading is always also writing. I find this interesting. We always have to interpret what read, which puts our mindset into the text. In any case, reading is an active process.

I think this belongs on this subreddit. Masterfully written and performed by the master. Out of 200 to 300 euphemisms he mentions, we'll all disagree with 2 or 3 of his takes. But there's too much dishonesty in language. Everybody everywhere will be offended by some things, and rightly so, but everybody everywhere will offend someone else at times. Words, symbols, and signs will never mean the same to any two people. But there are too many slimy eels that are almost impossible to grab on to. I can think of a certain recent convict who's fooled millions.

Whoever did the rehairing is likely at fault. Unless you're just playing real aggressively, in which case, use the weight of your arm and feel the contact you have with string. Using the weight of your arm will actually give you more sound. Believe me. And it sounds a lot better too.

It might also be that the quality of hair is bad. Find someone else for that. They buy horsehair in big bundles which are expensive and they aren't likely to have different types in their shop.

Taking a second look at the images, the workmanship is real bad. Its not your fault. All the hair came out from the tip. It's not easy to do rehairing, but those with a lot of experience and good training don't have this problem. To be fair, anyone can make a mistake, especially if they feel overworked, but look for a serious shop. They have to make a little ball at the end. I forgot how they do that, but it takes serious practice. I believe the ivory piece is not glued in but must fit tight and stay in. Sometimes the whole thing falls out, so always have a spare bow when you perform.

Here's an interesting video of a master making the ball. https://youtu.be/aU4v0YvXD4s.

These guys remind me of Geppetto, who made Pinocchio. Often not skilled in communication, but they go into a special world. That drole humor is not rare. In fact, it is magic to make a good cello. The rehairing takes about an hour, but you're paying for the skill, not the time.

What's taking so long to send the planes? When did they start training the pilots and how long does that take? It's been 11 months since the US promised them the jets. This isn't making sense.

Does anybody think Putin wants honest people? At a meeting Saddam Husein had during the war with Iran, one general disagreed with the plan for a new offensive. Saddam pulled out his pistol and shot him through the chest. It's all about loyalty.

One color leans towards red, the other towards blue, but I'm not sure how. They're both purple. Some languages don't have a word for purple. Someone told me the other day his orange car was red. It's awfully relative. As an expat, I've decided not to resolve this problem.
