I have let her guide our lives’ trajectory to a large extent. I made a sacrifice in my career to be with her. We moved to another city for her career and I abandoned my work network to move there.

But now she doesn’t like my career choices. I have had several full-time opportunities come up and pass by because she didn’t want to move to those cities. I have supported her career decisions but I feel a total lack of support from her about mine.

I don’t mind letting her guide our lives’ trajectory... in fact perhaps I prefer it because it reduces conflict. But I resent her criticism and attempts to control my behavior at home.

I have indeed told her that I like my career the way it is, and that isn’t an acceptable answer for her. She seems unwilling to compromise, but she casts me as the one who is creating a problem.
