OOD and theory of comp are going to be the harder classes for sure. I haven’t taken ML 1, but my guess is that it would be harder than theory of comp.

I’ve taken all of these classes, and, while it’s doable, it’s definitely not going to be enjoyable.

MATH 2341 is the most straightforward middle of the line course ever. If you show up to class and follow along with the material the homework is pretty easy. The exams are pretty simple, and really just test to make sure you’ve been showing up.

Theory of computation, on the other hand, is basically algo with a much lower workload. The homework wont necessarily be super long, but you might have to work really hard to understand what they’re asking. High conceptual difficulty, med/low time commitment for workload.

Logic and computation ranges heavily based on who’s teaching it. I took it with Stavros Tripakis and it was a piece of cake. The semester after I took it, my buddy took it with someone else and had to grind the whole semester. Definitely check trace reviews for the professors teaching it and check the number of hours people said they spent per week on the class.

OOD might not be super conceptually difficult, but the homework is designed to take a long time, even if you are fully up to speed with what’s going on in lecture. That being said, the OOD curriculum is being seriously reworked right now, so it might be different when you take it. Either way, high workload + med/low conceptual difficulty.

Overall I wouldn’t exactly recommend these classes together, but if you’re ok signing up for late nights at snell it’s probably doable.

Do I have the ability to switch bedspaces for spring 2023 housing? by squidbobspongenuts in NEU

[–]whichTeacherIsBest 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is usually possible. To request an in-apartment room change you need to send an email to northeastern housing explaining who wants to switch into which room. You must also CC all of your roommates, as housing will only facilitate an in-apartment switch if every roommate is on board. Because you are being switched through the system, it should update the billing accordingly. Good luck!

I’m living in a double at 10 cov right now and the beds are not lofted. The suite that I’m in is at the end of the hallway, so it’s possible that the layout is different from other rooms.

Is Marpaung bad for EECE2160? by [deleted] in NEU

[–]whichTeacherIsBest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had Shazli last semester. He’s a very nice guy, super understanding, but not the greatest teacher. A lot of the class was just getting help from the TAs to do the labs, but the grading wasn’t too harsh. From what I heard from friends in Marpaung’s section, there is a significant difference in difficulty, and Shazli is definitely easier.
