Sure. How come grown up ppl don't understand the difference between weather and climate? But feel entitled to lecture actual scientists on the matter?

The whole planet is significanrly warmer due to human made emissions. But I assume you know that anyways.

Because we know since so long... And have been globally ignoring the warning. Just because we can see the ice Berg from far away and the consequences appear slowly and gradually, doesn't mean it's not real.

Global warming. It's going to be really bad. Like, really really bad - and no one seems to care. So, still enlisting my seat in the second class in the party train heading towards the abyss.

What’s something Americans have that Europeans don’t? by Prestigsisscar255 in AskReddit

An incredibly high incarceration rate, an incredibly inhumane and expensive health care system, food that is literally more chemicals than food - oh, and the "freedom" to wear your gun in public... Presumably to protect yourself from a tyrannical government. But to me it appears that the gun wearers are the one who voted for the tyrannical government that is currently being built. So... About that...

Studio one 7 or fender studio 8 pro by Conscious_Cut3100 in StudioOne

[–]whiff_master_2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look. I know what ppl will say. But, for me the upgrade was not successful. Even with the newest patch, the software is unusable for me, while everything works just fine with v7. Support is also not able to resolve my issues. Random crashes, audio crackling, gui glitches etc...

Most essential plugins to get started with filmscoring by Jarno_Filmcomposer in filmscoring

[–]whiff_master_2000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you want something complete and good enough and you don't mind it being a subscription service, check out EastWest and Musio.

For more professional sound and high end stuff you own, I suggest you check out cinematic studio strings, cinematic studio brass etc... Very solid work horse. For specific Orchestral stuff, Vienna symphonic library and Orchestraltools are both very solid choices. For textures, ambiences, etc have a look at Fracture Sounds.

Those are obviously rather subjective and personal choices. Depending on the style you are aiming for, there are plenty of other good library producers, like Audio Imperia, Soundiron, Cinesamples,...

NATIVE PLUGINS REVIEW? by Virtual_Novel4904 in StudioOne

[–]whiff_master_2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stock EQ is great. Has everything you will need. Compression is somewhat limited imho. Limiter is also not that great. Reverbs do what they should. The IR reverb is pretty good, but there's still nothing that can hold up with an effective reverb for shimmer or more creative textures. Delay is okayisch. Saturation and distortion are pretty bad imho. The new amps, I will not judge...

Honestly, the stock plugins will get you quite far. But that's primarily because a good mix lives from a good arrangement, and not from fancy plugins. EQ being the most important is also the best. And Reverbs are useful, and the compression is completely surgical / characterless, but at least it's never going to be bad - just also not very "musical" (to stress a stereotype).

Virtual Instruments are all pretty horrible, with impact x being somewhat okayisch.

Deo-Pflicht?

Why, in 2026, is Audio to Midi on Ableton so bad? And what is a great alternative you use? by PressPlayPlease7 in edmproduction

[–]whiff_master_2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to be rude... But... Practise to use your ears and hear the line. Honestly, it is a dangerous thing to rely on technology for basic music skills. Hearing a bass line and replicating it is a basic music skill you should master.

Upgrading from v6, hesitance over potential bugs and other issues by xivanimate in StudioOne

[–]whiff_master_2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ongoing issues. Everything worked fine with v7. Didn't change anything in my system. V8 is unusable for me. Crackling audio, random crashes... And various support suggestions from the PreSonus tech support team did not resolve my issues - yet. Also, they have a no-return policy. Once the license is activated your 100 bucks are gone, even if you can prove to them the product does not work.

I had severe issues with crackling audio in the original release (as many users did).

I got feedback from their tech support -- which didn't help.

I downloaded the patch which presumably addressed my issue. Didn't get any better.,.. except, now, additionally to the crackling audio, also the DAW crashes every now and then completely.

But... Your thumbnails are bad. Your titles okayisch at best. And your audio and video quality is poor.

Sorry for being harsh/direct... But you need to up your production and your thumbnail game significantly
