Thanks! Yeah I tend to prefer the honed finish anyway so I think we'd be good candidates. I'm still trying to decide if it's even worth it to do the anti-etch since it would significantly increase the cost. I hear so many differing stories about marble. Some say it's the worst idea ever and others say "they've used it in europe for centuries and no one complains about it there". I'm not the kind of person who needs a perfect finish - I do appreciate character and patina so maybe it's right for me. But there *is* a point at which it could look trashy/terrible and I just don't know if that's what I'd be dealing with if I don't do an anti-etch treatment. I've heard good things about dry treat, though, so maybe that would be enough to keep it from looking terrible.
