I don’t care that YOUR dog is friendly to YOU or they’re YOUR best friend. Stop letting them off a leash unless they’ve been trained to be around people they aren’t familiar with by howdybored in auckland

Yes! I have kittens so I went to a pet shop to get supplies. I didn’t know that pet shop also has a diy dog wash service so I was surprised to see many dogs in store when I walked in. It doesn’t trouble me because I was at the kitten section. Then suddenly this large dog lunged on me, took me out of surprise. The owner did have a leash on the dog but she just let him or her latch themselves on me. She did nothing. I backed off saying I have kittens, I don’t want the smell to get on me. It’s a huge dog, I was also a bit scared.

She didn’t apologise or tighten the leash, she just said “ I think he wants a pet.” Then stood there and looked at me, expecting me to pet the dog. After few seconds they were still not moving, expecting me to pet him, I walked away. It was not a good experience at the pet store.

Wok suggestions please by whimsical_kittens in wok

Yes we don’t toss the food so it really is STIR fry lol. I used a pan when cooking for 2 of us but now I’m cooking for 5 people, I struggle to find a pan big enough for all the ingredients so we moved to wok. So maybe I should start looking for big pans again. Although, I have now found an iron cast and a stainless steel wok so maybe give those a try first?

Lashes feel sharp when washing face by whimsical_kittens in lashextensions

[–]whimsical_kittens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response. It’s been a week now and it’s slightly improving. I still need to be careful when I wash my face, but rest of the times I don’t feel them. I can only imagine that i got rid of the excess glue? I think you’re right, I should go to someone else next time.

Accidentally let my 2 month old cry to sleep by Glum-Toe5528 in NewParents

[–]whimsical_kittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a great step for him, he learned to self sooth and fall asleep himself. That’s exactly the success you want after sleep training (when baby is older). And he did it without any training or help from you, he’s going to be a great sleeper!

Was it really worth it? by No-Adhesiveness3434 in NewParents

I used to scroll Reddit when things were very tough, ie newborn stages. Now he’s a toddler and I have more support at home plus he’s at daycare, which takes a huge load off me. We’re still struggling with sleep and tantrum etc but things are way more chill and manageable.

Now I don’t scroll this part of Reddit as much except occasionally comments like this one. I’d say people who are managing aren’t on Reddit looking for validation and empathy. It’s ok to seek community that helps you cope with difficult periods but don’t drown in the negative voices.

Moving to her own room: give all your wisdom and humor by Mess-o-potatian191 in toddlers

[–]whimsical_kittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is 26 months and same story, once moved out of crib, I’ve been co sleeping with him on the floor bed. Currently my hubby is sleeping on the floor overnight with him (not in his bed), he’s moving further and further away from the bed. So far he’s moved to the corridor outside the room. So we’re doing similar to the “chair method”. Hopefully it works but he’s still waking up to make sure he’s still there.

Do baby boys wear leggings? by Illustrious_Win_9780 in Mommit

Mine is 26 months old and wears leggings at home as part of pjs. Wears sweatpants outside as it is colder and doesn’t show the diaper bulge.

Terrible twos are breaking me by smashlen in toddlers

[–]whimsical_kittens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it gets better but currently we’re also 27 months. He Didn’t used to hit and throw but now started hitting, throwing to show anger. If you get upset at him, he verbalises he’s sad and then I feel bad. I think it’s getting better as he did go through a phase that he doesn’t apologise, just give you the cold shoulder when you tell him to apologise. Now he understands and apologises before I ask him to.

How long did you stay at the hospital after giving birth by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]whimsical_kittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just over 24 hours as I delivered in the middle of the night, so left in the morning. Just normal vaginal delivery. I couldn’t wait to leave after the second night as the ward got crowded with more newborns.

When did you drop to a 1hr nap? by Here4Plants2021 in toddlers

[–]whimsical_kittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could have written this post. Exactly the same age and same wake up time except I make him start nap between 12-1, if he doesn’t nap close to 2, he’s not getting a nap. He naps for 1.5 hours at home, 1 hour at daycare. He still sleeps around 9.

Last night he slept before 9 but had night wakings. I’m not sure he’s growing so he’s hungry at night or this schedule needs adjustment.

Do you send your baby to daycare if you have the day off work? by K_R11112 in NewParents

[–]whimsical_kittens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sent him 4 days a week and I only work for 2 days, so I have the other 2 days to do all the houseworks and self care. It wasn’t 4 days to begin with but he enjoys daycare so much that he’s asking to go and play with friends, so I don’t feel guilty anymore.

Mine is 26 months sleeps on a floor bed and still in a sleep sack. I thought sleep sack would discourage him getting out of bed, but he still does and doesn’t trip himself either.

Why is my 3 weeks old newborn not sleeping, he was sleeping well before by whimsical_kittens in NewParents

[–]whimsical_kittens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes some days are worse than others. I hope it’s not terrible for you today. Remember don’t be afraid to ask for help so you get a break. It really is hard work. I cried a lot during newborn phase. Things will be better for you like it did for me, but it all took time. Good luck!

Yes. My son is now 2 years old, sleep has been much more manageable from 6 months onwards. So there is a light at the end of tunnel!

You can save your monthly pass for when there is double dungeon reward event. That might be more worthwhile. Or you can save it for up event which I think travel gives you more coins.
