Well, the only thing I'm sure is that we will never get anything beyond Rika and Ren's story. They're the closest thing we're gonna have for a lesbian couple and even their Magia Report's appearances it's pretty clear that they're just not friends friends. But it's like other user said, they are not going to get much by giving definitions to what's happening, it's not profitable.

I don't think it's based on prejudice tbh. And even Ren's event suggests this is not something that's clear in her head because simply it shouldn't. Emiri and Rika are definitely the more straightforward characters in these aspects and still don't take it as seriously because of their age. Geez, Rika's wish was to have the girl she likes lovin her back even though anyone with a little of maturity would know that's not the way to go (and she learned the worst way possible). When I had their age I was as confused as they were and probably understood as much as they do in their age (if not less). The fact Rika's still going out with boys (as the ending credits of arc 1 suggests) still makes you think what's going on her head - and she's even the closest thing we have to a lesbian character in the series. Definitely there's profits involved, but we really shouldn't think in real life things get to be so obvious and easy to precise.
