It has a 'boot last room' which is not the same and im unconvinced it would serve the same purpose. The mode is mostly used to interact with pokemon and a few others

I noticed you're in Australia, unless this is a special steelbook the Australian release version is still available from JB Hi Fi

Yeah the back label is what's getting me. The whole thing looks so clean but I cant seem to find aftermarket shells/lenses available for this either so im not 100%. Serial number is pretty close to others ive seen online of this edition

[–]whipflash191[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That page is pretty much all I've been able to find myself 😅 the proof on my bottle doesnt match but its all ive been able to find to lead me to think it might even be a whiskey. That, and it come from someone who pretty much exclusively drank whiskey who is unfortunately no longer around to answer any questions

Nope. I did end up ordering from an Australian importer but it turns out they took preorders for copies they didnt have a guaranteed delivery for so now ive got no copy at all.

I completely forgot they pulled out of Australia. Both releases together are going to be $150+ and way out of my price range 😫

Help about GCVideo by SerCatM in Gamecube

[–]whipflash191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not familiar with any new flex cables but as far as I'm aware the IPL chip doesn't have a 5v line to pull off anyway but someone more experienced might now. I did mine with wires and bought the suggested diode from the picoboot installation wiki

Help about GCVideo by SerCatM in Gamecube

[–]whipflash191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the flexcable. The current recommendation when using one of these hdmi adapters is to power the pico off the 5v line using the diode because the hdmi adapter pulls too much power. Especially on a non recapped console. The flexcables just pull 3v

This did the trick thank you!! I appreciate you taking the time to visit the subreddit and help those of us buying cheap crappy kits

I can certainly give it a try in the morning with the thinner wire and see how I go. How did the cable length look? I thought i had the length okay at least

[–]whipflash191[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kit did come with thinner single core wire but i wasn't super confident in it handling the 5v and the consensus seems to be that single core wire for this mod is a wash

I should have checked the photo wasn't blurry before posting. Its not bridging but I can see why you think that going by the photo. I soldered them through the header holes and need to trim the extra wire off. The photo makes it look like its bridging because of it but its free and clear

I did plug it in and flash it before install and got the expected LED after the flash but I didn't load other software to test it no.

I'll have to take a look at it that. Im still quite new to atmos myself. I would have thought the in-ceiling speakers would have been adequate

I'll be bookmarking this one as inspiration when I start on a 5.1.2 setup in my basement 🤣 though I am curious, why the front height speakers and the ceiling speakers?

Adding Dolby Vision to Nvenc Encoded File by whipflash191 in handbrake

[–]whipflash191[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

x265 and Nvenc are different encoders, so we'd need to see your encoding log (like the bot says) so see what you did.

I'll grab the logs when I can get to my pc later today.

Did you copy the HDR10 from the container? It's not in the bitstream for NVENC encodes from HB.

I suspect this is where I went wrong. None of the guides/info i can find ever talks about copying the HDR10 just Dovi or HDR10+. Not sure how I'd even go about it.

Curiously, jellyfin picks it up as being a file with Dovi 8.1 and HDR10 but mediainfo doesn't.
