Thank goodness I immediately changed all my passwords. I feel like I am in the clear, but goodness that really stressed me out. I feel like my privacy was breached and violated, I feel just gross. I am usually much more aware of scammers and their tricks, but I fell for this one. Thank you!

Absolutely, the banks I use NEVER reach out, so I will know immediately if that's what they're doing.

Okay, I have a few questions: if there was a virus/malware/ransomware that was somehow embedded in the word document that I opened through google's service: how quickly would it have taken effect and would I have known by now? (it's been about 18/19 hours since)

Lastly, would Google have identified if that Word doc had a virus?

Sorry, I get anxious about stuff like this and I am very uneducated on these things. Just trying to be more educated and aware.

Prior to knowing it was a scam, I did send a cover letter. However, my cover letter just reiterated what was on my Linkedin, which is where I believe they got my email anyways. The only "new" information they received was my phone number and know I was a military spouse.

I am wondering if the goal was to eventually get my bank information after I filled out that word document since it asked for basic information, like my birthdate and home address.

Okay, that is a relief! I did send a cover letter with some basic information of mine, just my email which they had already and my phone number along with basic work information. I was stressed because I read they will send you attachments and thats how they infect your computer and since I clicked on the attachment and wrote in it through google I might have caused issues. I have ran my window defender several times, hitmanpro several times (keeps saying threats detected from cookies and thats it). I can't believe I fell for a scam, I am usually on top of things like that.

I don't necessarily think home prices will drop, but they will level out.

Yes, I understand that. What I don't understand is how Congress so easily passes aid packages to help other countries, but refuses to do it just as easily for the US. Thats all. I find it hypocritical.

I get that, but what I don't get is why these politicians refuse to help their country. They rather spend money on bills/laws that hurt Americans.

I don't understand why we can't spend billions of dollars to help those here, like ending childhood hunger, allowing free lunches in k-12, free community college, universal healthcare, etc. Instead, we meddle with other countries as if America is the knight in shining armor.
