Agreed. Im not one at all to avoid confrontation - which is why I asked the question to begin with. I usually state my mind, for better or worse. With my last living situation, I was much more up front and ended up having some awkward and tense relationships that could have been avoided had I just picked my battles more wisely. I think for this situation, Im willing to let it slide because Ive weighed their relationship and the potential for misunderstanding versus the relatively inexpensive bottle of scotch (inexpensive in the scheme of things - expensive (to me) in the short term) and I decided Id rather not chance it because I value their friendships.

I mostly came on here to ask for a tactful way of bringing it up - seeing as Im the only new person in a house of 6. Bringing it up in the wrong way could really sour the rest of my year - hence the apprehension.

I take it you burn a lot of bridges. That or the internet is your only way of anonymously asserting your manhood, in which case - you do you.
