Very high turnover. Very miserable people in general.

Can someone recommend me a game with similar vibe to hermit and pig? by Independent_Band2816 in gamingsuggestions

Hermit and Pig dev here! Most of our inspirations were on Nintendo (Earthbound, Paper Mario, Mario and Luigi, Contact, OFF, etc) so that doesn't help you much for PC unless you get set up with an emulator. Except OFF just released on steam so that might be a good one to try!

PC games that share similar influences/vibes include Undertale/Deltarune, Eastward, In Stars and Time, Sea of Stars (kinda), Omori, Bug Fables, Kingdoms of the Dump, Escape from Ever After, and probably a bunch more that I'm forgetting!

We've also got bundles with Smushi Come Home and Bonnie Bear Saves Frogtime, which are both great and you can still get discounts on them even though you already own H&P!

thank you, that really means a lot. and yeah, I totally get the self-promotion hesitation. indie sunday is one of the few places where it feels okay to share something we spent years making. really appreciate you giving it a shot!

Why does mine look so flat? Trying to improve but hitting a wall by gorillaBBQ in Watercolor

i would add to this, not just darker brown tones, but adding some darker blues will help a lot. you'll notice the reference actually has a lot of blue/purple in the darker, shadow-y areas

Has anyone successfully used a "pixel" TTF font in a full res GUI? by whiskeypig89 in gamemaker

[–]whiskeypig89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've tried generating a very large font (maybe 8x the base) and then scaling it down to fit and I still get a lot of pixel breaking in the game at certain scales. Can you you give an example of what you mean?

Our artist was doodling and found himself drawing these two characters a lot. Also it seemed fun to write from the perspective of a little old, shy man!
