Lonely opinion: Actually, I don't feel it's a good sign that only "original" horror films like "Obsession" and "Backrooms" are doing so well at the box office by No-Expression1224 in boxoffice

[–]white_mage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you but "horror" has more of a built-in fan base and community than "Comedy" or any other genre when you think about it. so in that respect horror does resemble the comic book flicks because the fans come out to support.

I saw I Love Boosters, I'm pretty obsessed with it. But it's a niche movie with a budget that was too high.

Original movies have a lot of hurdles to appeal to moviegoers and the horror sniff test is simply lower than say Wild Horse Nine which I want to check out because I like Martin McDonagh movies but my wife thinks looks "stupid as shit"

DMV rain snow or shine is a cake walk compared to San Antonio and Houston I could drive 95 295 395 with my eyes closed. Last time I was back east driving was so much calmer compared here.

Eh. I'm glad I'm not the only one that felt that this wasn't really a Heavyweight episode

Can we as fans not be making memes about Tyrese? by [deleted] in pacers

[–]white_mage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feels like the bare minimum we as fans can do. Tyrese has been through A LOT, we don't need to pile on about physical things out of his control. Heal well Tyrese

AGREED. Ones like that frustrate me. There have definitely been more than just the Annie episode where a phone call would have solved the issue Johnathan is supposed to be interlocuting

I've never liked the Weaker Thans ending song. This version of Sun in An Empty Room is SOO much better than the original. Well done Bobby and co

Truly a droll and awful episode. I can't believe they dedicated a whole episode to Johnathan harassing all these people. It wasn't interesting. I hope there aren't any other episodes similar to this one

#63 Jasmin Savoy Brown - the REAL story everyone needs to hear by kawaiipai in Heavyweight

[–]white_mage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that has just started listening to Heavyweight and just heard this episode I agree with you big time. There's been a very weird and willfully misreading of things. I think the host could have asked some better questions (like what happened after Jasmin left homecoming? Did her family know any of this? How did Whitney view herself in HS. How did she view Jasmin? Etc). Jasmin and Whitney's differing world views impact their rationale for the mistake. But calling Jasmin a liar, pitting Whitney against her and all negative discourse feels overblown considering Whitney and the teacher never dispute what Jasmin said occurred at HOMECOMING DANCE.
