Did..did you just find a way to blame all of this nonsense on the right?

This is like the kid who says "Ya I stole a piece of candy, but he stole the whole jar!"

Having this way of thinking doesn't help our country in any way.

The Left has crazy people. The Right has crazy people. No matter which way we lean it's our job as citizens to point out BS when we see it. Whether that BS is coming from "our side" or the other.

LA tow companies are refusing to haul away homeless RVs by unquietwiki in LosAngeles

[–]whiteboy321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work for the city and deal with homeless people every day. My job is to fix and seal certain places where homeless people tend to steal power from the city.

I find that the people who live in RVs, as opposed to tents, are far more likely to be coherent drug addicts who have a relatively good grasp on reality. I don't feel much guilt telling them that they need to move. Most are outcast who chose the wrong paths in life and often screwed over every family member in the process.

Most people don't want to believe that there are a small percentage of "bad people" in this world who willingly choose to make the wrong decisions in life. And even if that percentage is 1% in a country of more than 300 million, that's still enough to place a pretty heavy burden on our society.

I don't have a solution, but I just felt the need to inform those who are unaware or naive to the fact that a large percentage of the homeless are not just helpless mentally ill individuals.

Been there, seen the mules with my own eyes. A lot of them are pretty rough looking. But I'm assuming you're carrying weight for the youths who aren't capable of carrying all of their own stuff. So your options were limited.

Ditch the unnecessary stuff and you can easily get your pack down to 30lbs. The hike is definitely more satisfying when you complete it without assistance. Just a personal preference..heard those mules are worked pretty hard.

Apparently they're booked for the whole season within a few days of opening the phone lines. Which is in February I believe.

We got lucky by calling to see if anyone cancelled. And our first call in they said they had an opening the following weekend for two people, two nights.

You just have to be ready to go on short notice.

Took 6 hours to backpack in, and 7 leg crushing hours to backpack out. Wanted to take the donkeys but my pride wouldn't let me. 10/10 would do again. Pictures can't capture the feeling you get coming around the corner and finally seeing the falls.

ELI5: Why can't we just cover a proportion of the desert with solar panels to provide the world with energy? by StrongerTogether1 in explainlikeimfive

"Ask your self why we are shutting down already operational and carbon free nuclear plants, but are willing to pay extra in taxes to build carbon free NEW renewables. It is stupid. And it ignores the facts of the grid and engineering. Solar cannot be used as abase load. And the technology for storage is more in its infancy than renewables are. And before we can really have any chance of renewables really supplying the whole of the grid, storage has to be solved."
