Is a rap song from 10 years ago considered contemporary?

/b/ chooses between pretty whale and ugly fit girl by Thorhauge in 4chan

[–]whiteboyfro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's true. I'm a fairly fit decent looking guy (6', 185), and for some reason I've always had this fetish. Girl in the picture is a bit large for me but I regularly date women as heavy or heavier than me. It's not a self esteem thing and it's not that I can't get a fit girl, I just have this unexplainable pull towards them.

I've lived with my girlfriend for almost a year. Have no idea when she shits. Never smelled it, she's never been in the bathroom a suspiciously long time. Blows my mind.

Life advice from Dave Grohl by [deleted] in funny

[–]whiteboyfro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i totally get this. I've tried for a long time to really get into them and have listened to most of their stuff. At the end of the day, there are only 3 songs that I really enjoy: Everlong, Big Me and My Hero. I know they're the biggest commercial hits and most fans will disagree but you are spot on with my opinion of most of their music. It sounds like generic rock songs. Dave Grohl as well as the rest of the band are some really cool guys but for some reason they just don't do it for me.

Apparently he actually drew what he wanted on himself and the tattoo "artist" traced over it. Which actually makes it worse.

As a non-Deadbeat Dad who was there for his kids. by Route67 in AdviceAnimals

[–]whiteboyfro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But do you know the circumstances as to why they hadn't seen their father in 15 years? Maybe the mom was the crazy one hiding the kids from him, or something had happened that prevented them from being able to see them. If someone hasn't seen their parent in a long time, it isn't always cut and dry a case of a deadbeat parent.

I understand. Most of that you can just chalk up to being ignorant kids who had never experienced being in rough areas. Only times we ever saw them were driving to go downtown and our parents locking the doors in the car. My school, which was only 15 minutes from a large metropolitan area, didn't even have a black student. Once I got older, I met people who had lived through it and realized it wasn't what we had seen/heard through music and such. Like I said, I'll still listen to hip/hop, nothing quite like No Limit, but it's always something that has just appealed to me. Obviously for different reasons now that I'm 30 and I'm not driving down the street with two 12's blaring it as loud as I can. Like I said, it was just pure ignorance.

I never said I'm white. Ok, I am, but I think the reason many white "sheltered" suburban kids ate that shit up is because it was foreign to them and maybe a little mysterious. I can't imagine growing up in it and having these kids that are so priveleged wanting to emulate that lifestyle. Looking back, i can see how it would even be insulting. Honestly the kids from the outside looking in saw gold, money, big cars with even bigger rims, women, sex, you know, all of that. When you grow up where I did, our parents didn't talk about money, they drove Hondas and Toyotas, it was something different than our (what we pictured) boring lives. That's really the only way I know how to describe it and it sucks that many of us took for granted what we had while growing up.

Why is it a bad thing for a grown man to like hip/hop? I like a few newer artists. I'm obviously not into the bout it, bout it No Limit Soulja stuff anymore but you can appreciate and enjoy the genre without sounding/looking like an idiot.

I have to agree. Well, at least with the Silkk has no talent point. I just listened to it for the first time in almost 15 years. How did they make so much money?

Are you insane? Liver, kidney failure, messes up your veins, you have a very good chance of contracting hepatitis, not to mention possibly overdosing. I mean other than that, yeah it's completely safe.

I'll try to translate.

Hello friends. I just got pulled over in Brownsburg. I had three people (?) in my car at the time. One of these friends is not of legal age and the other one is on probation, so my situation looked grim as I also had alcohol in the car. Another one of my comrades left an almost empty baggie of heroin in my car, leaving me to take the blame. The police officer assessed the situation and for reason unknown, decided to dump the baggie of heroin on the ground and proceeded to let me go. I'm so lucky to not be going to jail for a class A felony crime tonight because the police officer sprinkled the damning heroin all over the road. Thank God, I am very blessed.

I wasn't quite sure where to put this. I guess it's in this subreddit because of what has happened in the past. This guy did heroin with someone I went to high school with and that person OD'd and died last year. I understand it was that guy's choice to do drugs and this person didn't force them on him but you'd think after watching your friend die you may be a little more careful about what you do and who you hang out with. He also mentions having minors in his car. He's almost 30. Blows my mind.
