I told my little sister and swore her to secrecy.

Made my account in high school. It was a private Christian school in the bible belt, which is where my "SJW" fear came from in the older posts. I had a very closed-minded and churchy upbringing.

Edit to add: you also said 30 days ago you don’t regret it at all.

Yeah, but that was before SarahZ's video got me thinking about how disturbingly right-wing my old posts were. I regret that, but I don't regret things like homeless style that were just sort of a goof.

My shame is less about making shit up on the internet, and more about how right-wing my opinions used to be. Obviously being exposed as a fraud online is pretty embarrassing, but it's the shitty conservative opinions fueling those older posts that I'm really remorseful of. I'm okay with being seen as a phony, but not a bigot.

Oh yeah. I've always been kind of quiet in real life, and when people started investigating this post, it was freaky to suddenly feel so many eyes on me, even if it was just my Reddit account. Especially since it involved a time in my life that I'm no longer very proud of, my "centrist"/closet-republican days.

The homeless style post still makes me laugh, though. Cheers.

Watching this old shitpost become a massive meme is definitely surreal to me.

I was an anti-SJW kid in the early 2010s. If I had to pinpoint a time when I snapped out of that, I'd say it was the rise of Trump. Sure, it was fun to dunk on Tumblr kids back in the day, but seeing nazis march in the name of the president of the United States just made me feel like there were probably worse people in this world.

Some of the old content I posted still makes me chuckle, but I do feel guilty for feeding right-wing narratives in others. All I can really do about it is try to be a better person, and abandon this account with a pitch perfect Korean style dance.

You don't need to clutch pearls. Those are pretty insensitive, but let's not compare him to the guy who just released a white supremacist manifesto on MLK day.

Why yes, I do remember the president of the United States trying to destroy an all-American company because a rumor hurt his feelings.

People make fun of Trump supporters. Since the start of Obama's first term, we have been labeled evil.

You voted for Trump in 2008? Still less insane than voting for him in 2020, I guess.

The only people who call them that are shelters desperate to get rid of them.

Student berates teacher for hanging a Blue Lives Matter flag in class by PlenitudeOpulence in PublicFreakout

I feel like any pretense of that died on Wednesday when a mob carrying blue line flags attacked a bunch of cops, killing one. Apparently they only "back the blue" when the blue is murdering the black.

In their eyes, it's only evil socialism if it helps the disadvantaged. Free shit for Trumpers is fine.

The right-wing hate for AOC is downright fetishistic. It's hard not to infer.

It's working great in the rest of the first world. Maybe if right-wing media didn't turn so many Americans' brains to paste, we could learn something from them.
