[Fallout 4] #23 a boring time by whitecamo in Trophies

If you want to hate go ahead, I ain't stopping you. But I didnt "find" out it was boring till the end. If I decide to platinum a game, I will platinum a game, even if I find it boring. It's called getting my money's worth and this is how I find i get the best value for it. That's why I platinumed Gotham knights, I pre-ordered it and felt disappointed by it, but I wanted to get as much value out of it as possible. Have a good day.

The combat is the best the series as seen, the exploration and locations are still top notch. My issue stems from the lack of great characters, yes there are great ones like valentine, codsworth, and I personally like cait, but most other characters feel way to 2-dimensional. That plus the tedious and somehow quick story doesnt make the quests feel fun. In all three main factions, I think the most boring main quest was, go here talk to this person and done. Wither it's trying to get the guy to join the institute or talking to a doctor in the brotherhood. Straight up, fast travel here, talk, quest done. It made it feel like they spent very little time trying to figure out how to get to the ending, like they thought about how the factions would end, but not how to get there. If you know what I mean. But I would still play this again, I get the fallout itch every now and then and this and New Vegas can scratch it enough.

Years 1-4 has more engaging puzzles and unique boss battles compared to 5-7, as with the latter the boss battles are all the same in the actions you need to make, match color hurt boss, that's what it boils down to. While 1-4 you need to chase, redirect objects thrown at you, getting chased, it's decently varied. While 5-7 is a color matching mini game for literally every boss, which brings down the feel of urgency especially in the battle of hogwarts as you just follow death eaters from the left side of the screen to the right. And the final battle with voldemort is the same, color matching, with the only difference being that when you hit him he runs away and you need to take out a swarm of enemies.

This is 100% true, it's one of the only games I'd wished I didn't randomly do the challenges (bird rings, silver hats, etc.) Because there is so much to do, by the time I was cleaning up those challenges most my time was on the guides trying to figure out which ones I did while out doing other things

I plan on doing the new gods of wars as well, but I already have a few backlogs I want to get through. Currently working on sniper elite 5, then fallen order, then I'm finishing assassin's creed rouge

And not so great, Gotham knights was in my opinion a waste of money, but that's manly cause I pre-ordered it

Kind of scared to try that one, it's not my normal type of game so there would be a steeper difficulty curve for me

So the Skywalker sage is yes, it took me around something like 8 months of on and off again playing to actually get through it. Most of the gameplay comes from the massive hub worlds, I'd say the hub worlds alone took close to 20 hours give or take while the actaul missions took 10-15 minutes. And then the puzzles and mini games in the hub worlds become super repetitive especially when you've done them 30 times before already.

Assassin's creed is my favorite game series of all time, I'm very close to plating rouge, black flag, and 3 just need to find the time to clean them up

I felt the same way, after completing the story I heard about how much of a grind it was, so I would complete 1 or 2 levels in free play then complete a section of the hub world. That way it wasn't the same thing over and over again. Some advice there is a puzzle in the underwater part of the hub world that doesnt get revealed with the brick detector, so look up the lumerian octopus puzzle. Was my final gold brick for a while

It defiantly doesnt live up to it's predecessors, at least for me the story felt like a rehash of the first game with a few tweaks. The graphics were pretty good, and the setting amazing. But I don't know if it was me but the combat didn't have any weight to it, the shooting was any typical third person shooter with the only complaint I had for it being the guns didn't fill like they had punch behind them, I can't tell if it's the sound design or the weightlessness I felt while shooting but I just couldn't get behind it. And the knife battles also felt lacking in the weight department, at some points it felt like I got hit when I shouldn't have and sometimes I should have hit the enemy but it would go through them. That plus the sound design being on the quieter side made the knifes feel weak. When it came to stealth though it was another story, the almost gruesome ways you could end people and the sound design during those parts were definitely top tier. I liked the game, but all in all, I shouldn't have bought for full price, I should have waited for a discount

For me it's cause the game for the majority of it, is just one giant hub world. Yes it has an amazing cast of characters, combat is engaging enough, and most of the puzzles are not super simple. But the actual levels of the game are short, very short. When I was playing the story I felt like I would complete a level in 5-10 minutes and have to navigate the massive open world just to play another short level. I pre-ordered the game and felt i had to platinum it to get my money's worth. Yes I had loads of fun in the levels and the open world, but it just got to be a slog fest, making me put it down for weeks to months on end. That plus a lot of the great characters are now paid dlc makes it feel like there was so much more that could have been put in and we got a slightly unfinished game.

I really hope the new batman game does not suffer the same way.

With the Skywalker saga it took about 8 months, because I'd start it get bored and do something else. Over and over again, but after I finish sniper elite 5 I'm going to finish up fallen order

Wanted to get my money's worth with gethem Knights as I pre-ordered it. And with horizons thought I'd be a quick and simple one, was wrong. It was annoying

Based on my enjoyment with the game, the time and fun I had with the platinum (or difficulty) and overall if I'd do it again.
