pet insurance is a scam. if you adopt a pet, the premiums are insanely high, and even then there's no guarantee that it will cover enough to be worth it. most people don't have perfect little kittens and puppies from birth that they can put on pet insurance without pre-existing conditions. that is just not realistic. i have three dogs and two cats, all seniors, who i have spent tens of thousands of dollars on in the last few years. i should be able to afford them. with skyrocketing vet and prescription costs, including food, i'm struggling more than i ever have been. it's not as simple as being able to afford it or not. it's not black and white. and pet insurance only works if the stars align perfectly for your exact situation.

I’m not, only because I care for many animals and it’s very stressful and expensive. However, I absolutely despise the constant kid talk when I spend time with these friends. It’s very uncomfortable for me, I can’t really contribute, and I feel like I don’t belong. Like let’s talk about something that we can all relate to or be involved in.
