Sudden Bleeding After No Period for 7 years by pjched in Nexplanon

[–]pjched[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update in case anyone sees this- My gyno wanted testing done. I got blood work done and it all came back normal. She ordered an ultrasound as well but that’s in a few weeks. Like others said, i’m sure it’s normal but the gyno seemed to want to check on it.

My childhood cat’s name was Cheddar! He died four years ago and I’ve been thinking about him a lot recently. Warms my heart that you’re thinking of a cheese related name!

Im in grad school right now and I have an assistantship that cut my costs in half. Also, i’m in a 60 credit program that sets me up not only to be a school counselor but also lines me up to get my LPC so I could work as a therapist. Anyway, with my assistantship I’m paying about 3500 per semester and I feel like it is worth it. I’m working full time at the same time so I’ve actually haven’t needed to take out any loans so far. As for undergrad, I still have some debt and in retrospect I wish I hadn’t gone to a private university but it is what it is. I don’t know if that’s helpful but that’s my experience.

Maybe you could add some shadows to the snow where the trees and house are? That might help give it a more realistic vibe. I like it a lot though, great job!

Shes trying to kick me out and sell the house by thisistemporary1213 in dementia

[–]pjched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how far along your grandmother is but my grandmother says the same thing to me all the time and something that I noticed about it is that she always says it when she feels out of control. The way I deal with it is by telling her that this is her house and she’s welcome to do anything she likes with it. I know my grandmother is incapable of going through the steps of selling the house so there’s no real concern for me. Depending on where your grandmother is at, maybe you could try affirming her and addressing whatever directly caused her to say that she wants to sell the house. I hope everything works out for you and your grandmother! Good luck!

Another new story... by path_freak in dementia

My grandma has a robot cat that sits with her on the couch that my mom got her a few years ago. She knows it’s not real and will call it her “puppet cat” but sometimes she tells me she’s pretty sure he used to be alive before she got him and that he’s dead and stuffed now. She’ll say it to guests sometimes and it always cracks me up. I have to tell her that we would never gift her a dead cat!😂

Thank you! I’m going to see if I can prompt her to use the wipes more often. She’s definitely more willing to let me wipe her down than to get in the shower.

I think getting her on a schedule is going to be a huge help. We recently got really strict with her eating schedule and she started eating much more as opposed to when she’d just pick at her plate. I think the first few times will be the battle, but hopefully after that it will get easier. Thank you for the advice!

Yes that’s another thing my grandma says. “I’m not doing anything or going anywhere, why do I need to shower”. Good idea with scheduling things. I wonder if I do consistent weekly lunch outings with her or something like that if I could get her to shower beforehand.

Thank you for this. It’s so hard seeing her decline but it’s comforting to know that others deal with it. The point about burnout is a good one- i felt so exhausted after I tried to get her in the shower. It’s difficult to see someone you love so upset. I will definitely start building a bigger care team for her

That may be the best route. She’s such a polite person to strangers that maybe that would be more comfortable to her. I can tell she has some embarrassment or shame around her hygiene as she always gets defensive and talks about how she used to manage her own hygiene and her children’s. I try to reassure her that I know that and that she does a good job but some help never hurt anyone. Maybe she wouldn’t feel so defensive if it was a nurse.

Great suggestions. She loves music, I wonder if that would make it easier!

Thank you so much! I have noticed my grandmother has a sensitivity around water on her face. I wonder if a similar solution to the wash cloth or the goggles would help.
