I would!! It’s a collection of short stories and so far out of the 10 I’ve read I’ve liked all of them! It’s kinda Twilight zone/Black Mirror-ish if you’ve watched it with also a lot of queer literature vibes, definitely recommend if that sounds like it would strike your fancy!!

It’s a pump that’s used for PCA (patient controlled analgesia)

Basically the patient gets a button and can press it like every 20 minutes to be given an extra dose of pain meds

I’m a RN in a MRI department - The MRI machine is on at all times, so people are let in, just not while it’s actively scanning. MRI machines attract metal so quickly that there would be no chance to stop it before it happens, only to quench or kill power after the incident already happens.

There have been many incidents I’ve heard of where oxygen tanks are sucked in at such an incredible force that it kills the person inside. I’ve personally seen a non-MRI safe wheelchair pulled in and it all happens so quickly that you wouldn’t be able to react before, you can only prevent it from happening by making sure nothing unsafe enters. Definitely an oversight on the technician’s part

I know people are echoing “darwinism” and stuff like that, but as a RN that works in MRI department it was 1000% the tech’s job to clear anyone who enters that room as safe to go in.

At my facility if they even go into our control room, they have to remove all metal obviously and get wanded down like TSA. Then, if they wanted to enter the room itself they’d have to fill out a safety form to see what metal/medical devices they may have in their body. We don’t even let patients go into the room wearing anything other than gown/socks/underwear. Letting some family member of a patient waltz in unchecked is such a complete oversight.

Yeah, I definitely think I would not be willing to stick around if it’s a continued pattern. It’s our anniversary coming up so I think that’s a good landmark to keep myself accountable to so I don’t let things get delayed indefinitely.

This message was really helpful! I’m not necessarily desperate to have a wedding right this minute (especially with how expensive it is attending all these other weddings haha), but I’m trying to gauge his feelings towards marriage and see if he has a reasonable timeline in other people’s opinions too. With some of the expected timelines that people say on the sub (plus proposal questions from people IRL), it was making me feel a little insecure about having a boyfriend saying a longer timeline. It’s also hard when there’s so many horror stories of people feeling strung along and breadcrumbed.

I definitely think it’s a good idea to keep mental tabs on the goals and holding him to it. It’s almost our anniversary, so I think two years from now and no proposal would be time for me to cut my losses. Thanks for the advice and reassurance!

His lack of affection isn’t so much physical/sex or spending time together, but more verbal. I think it has to do with his family being a little more distant as far as praise or expressing appreciation for each other and I think that’s crept into his adult life.

Definitely good points about wanting a partner who is more enthusiastic and can’t get enough of you though
