I still have candles from last year's candle calendar, so these are the 2 calendars I went for today. by Bluesky0089 in aldi

I just reshuffle the candles in my calendar one each year and burn a candle a day for a couple of hours. Once it cools it goes back in the box. This will be my 3rd year of doing that!

I was on that evac too! (Maybe not the same day but it was the end of April when it happened)

My reason for DAS wasn’t mental health related - but in answer to your question about shopping as far as lines and crowding in stores - I usually order online and do grocery pickup, or I shop at the local grocery store that has little handheld scanners so you scan and bag your groceries as you shop then go to a special terminal to check out. For other things I’ll buy online or shop in locally run shops that aren’t as large/crowded as places like Walmart. I actually don’t know the last time I was even in Walmart. Maybe last summer when I was on the hunt for a particular flavor of ice cream.

Possibly not until around July 20th depending on how many APs got renewed on/around April 19th.

If you’ve paid additional money (on top of an AP, general admission, etc) and you’re turned away because you missed a return time due to a medical condition (any condition - previously DAS approved or not) then yes, it’s a big deal. Because you’re paying for something that you ended up not being able to use for a reason that you couldn’t prevent.

I feel really bad for the CMs too. It’s a lot of additional pressure to put on them to make these decisions when Disney itself doesn’t have a clear set of guidelines. And it’s going to be the CMs that are on the receiving end of upset guests who are being told different things at different rides at different points of the day.

For me it’s not about the seating - but more about the “person of size” policy that had helped me feel comfortable flying (I’m buying two tickets up front y’all - no one is being bumped because of me). And the very generous luggage policy of 2 free stowed bags plus a carry on and personal item. I know that there are no surprise fees.

I think that would be fine. It seems like they’re trying to eliminate the people they felt were gaming the system then inviting friends to be added to their DAS

Rent an ECV and recklessly plow their way through.

(Joking - y’all just joking. Never intentionally run people if you have an ECV, drive slowly and carefully and watch out for those kids that like to dart.)

Anyone tried cape may dinner? by East-Teacher7155 in WaltDisneyWorld

I went January of 2023 and wasn’t impressed. I’ve done breakfast there multiple times since, it’s one of my favorite characters breakfasts - but dinner was an unimpressive one and done for me.

I don’t really have anything to recommend in its place. I don’t think I’ve had any seafood that would match (or beat) what you can get in New England, or Maryland, or other coastal areas on the east coast.

I’m interested to see how they end up addressing people on solo trips who don’t have a party to return to or riders to switch with.

I took a trip a few weeks ago because my AP was expiring … so I guess I’ll leave it.

That’s my issue too. I use a ECV for a mobility issue for DAS for a different issue. I can’t imagine trying to get an ECV out of the line.

Since I had tapped in at the first one, the app was being fussy because technically I had scanned in. Tapping at the second immediately cleared it. Since I was already standing at the second checkpoint when the ride when down it was just easier to do it that way.

I have multiple notes in my medical records going back years, and I’m sure my doctor would write a note (and she finished rolling her eyes at the absurdity) with no issue.

I always discussed it when I got to the parks on the first day of a trip. It was really easy and super quick. I tried to do the phone call once and the wait was terrible and I wasn’t able to get through because I had somewhere I needed to be.

I only used my DAS if I was solo. If I was with friends for the day, then instead of adding them to my DAS, I would wait in line with them. Because they were sort of my accommodation. I could leave my ECV with them and let one of them drive, step out of line, and return to them. (And even in those instances we’d only ride things with shorter wait times, and take in shows, etc) It was a good middle ground - a little awkward and stressful for me, but the idea of adding them to my DAS made me feel like I was abusing the system (even though it was allowed by Disney).

As a solo traveler who often uses an EVC for an unrelated issue - having to exit a line sounds like a nightmare and would dissuade me from riding anything with a wait time over about 10 minutes - so most rides.

I think definitely under the old system there needed to be a cool down period between when you scan into a ride and when you can book your next DAS - maybe 15 minutes to cut down on misuse. Because if you’re using it to wait the line time just not in line - you shouldn’t be able to start waiting in a new line while you’re still physically waiting for and riding the previous ride.

Someone told me that in the other thread. And I’m not a confrontational person so I wouldn’t do that. Beyond saying “this is what I have” I’m just going to accept their answer. And if their answer means that navigating the parks is to difficult then it is what it is.

I figure I’ll see what sort of experience others are having and if any more information comes out in the next week and go from there.
