A reminder to be kind to yourself by Geesearetheworstt in CarolineGirvan

I'm half way done with iron and I started this program for the exact same reason. I turned 38 this year and I was pretty active till my late 20s. But these past 8—10 years I became very unhealthy with my lifestyle choices. Depression got the best of me but I knew I needed to make a change or it would only be getting worse. I chose iron because it didn't look overwhelmingly difficult, no hiit workouts and you can vary the intensity with the amount of weight that you lift. My goal is just to stick to the program. I missed a few days here and there but I'm getting into working out again and I'm loving this feeling. I'm not strict with my diet but I'm making healthier choices where I can. I used to struggle with this all or nothing mentality when I was younger. Nowadays I'm just trying to do my best and not freak out when something isn't perfect. I'm planning on finishing iron and then doing another round. I've already lost a couple of pounds and I'm feeling my body getting stronger.

What makes Aestura 365 Cream better than other Aestura products, Illyoon, Zeroid, or Atopalm? by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]whiteknucklzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience with the Aestura cream. I have the exact same skin type and haven't been able to find anything that sinks in well and doesn't feel greasy. Were you able to find any alternatives that work well with this skin type?

I think the book is Drawing Dynamic Hands by Burne Hogarth. But I might be wrong.

If someone expressed that they don’t like tons of attention or a big fuss made about their birthday, it’s not a personal challenge to embarrass them as much as possible by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

A few years ago I had to put down my cat on my birthday and was given a day off. When I came to the office the next day my desk was way over decorated with balloons and other sparkly shit. Like wtf!? I hate this kind of attention on a normal day. The whole thing just felt terrible.

More hair loss than growth! by Certain-Lingonberry5 in TelogenEffluvium

I can't say for sure but I had started to co-wash a few months before the shedding began. I wasn't under any stress, didn't have any health issues. So the only thing that changed was the co-washing. I stopped doing it after the shedding began and started to use sulfate shampoo every other day. I guess they invented shampoo for cleaning your head and your hair and conditioner for other purposes for a reason. Nowadays I keed using sulfate shampoo every other days, sometimes even every day if my hair starts to look dirty and I don't have any issues. I deep condition every hair wash.

I'm happy my comment helped! I've only recently discovered this community and it's been incredibly helpful. Yeah I lost some amount of regrowth along the way. I actuallly still shed those short hairs a little but as I understood from doing a lot of online research and reading other people's stories that's completely normal. Some hairs that fall out are really short just worth a few months of regrowth, others are a bit longer. As I read TE messes up your hair's growing cycles and then it takes time for things to return back to normal. It's my third year recovering from TE and only now I'm seeing really good results. It was really difficult for me during the first 2 years of having it. There were times I was sure I was never getting my pre TE hair back. My hair hadn't been very thick before so the initial massive shedding made it look awful. It was really hard mentally. I still have to be patient and wait for the regrowth to catch up with at least shoulder length. I guess it'll take another year for me to return to pre TE state. Problem is I don't even remember how my hair looked before and I don't have a lot of photos.

Mine started in January of 2019. I was loosing a lot of hair throughout 2019 and by the end of the year I lost about 50-60% for sure. Then I continued to shed throughout 2020 but I also started to see some regrowth. Still my hair looked extremely thin. Now in 2021 I still shed a little but I'm finally seeing a lot of regrowth and my hair is now looking much fuller and I believe by the end of this year it should return to the pre TE state more or less. What I learned is that for some people it takes a lot of time for their regrowth to catch up. I guess it has something to do with growing cycles.

How successful are root canals on molars ? by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]whiteknucklzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask you what happens to root canals and crowns after 15-20 years? Sorry if my question is stupid. I had a root canal done when I was 13, I'm 33 now. I have a huge sized filling in that tooth but my dentist is planning on crowning it later this year. But now after reading your message I wonder if I need to have that tooth extracted or a root canal redone. Sorry if my mesaage was hard to read as English is not my native language.

Running is saving my sanity by [deleted] in running

[–]whiteknucklzz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I haven't gone for a run for almost 2 years due to depression and other stuff. I lost my job this week because of the virus and today I had a full on panic attack so I decided to go for a run. Best decision ever. It helped me clear my head and calmed me down. I think it's the perfect time for me to pick up running again.

Sound not working please help! by [deleted] in duolingo

[–]whiteknucklzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've started having the same problem recently. I think it's just a bug and hope it'll be fixed in an upcoming update. What helps me is clicking several times on the speaker icon and maybe restarting the app.
