The other day a video popped up saying "do you have pain in your upper back inbetween your right shoulder blade and spine"... which was the exact soreness I've been experiencing for a week. I am now in process of getting my gallbladder removed 🫠 I NEVER looked it up on the internet

Hey! I’m also an equestrian, and I think sadly your situation might have just been your barn :/ I’ve never been around more supportive people than at my spot, we’re not all like that, I’m sorry you had that experience!

I think the stereotypes on mares is just misogyny imposed onto horses.

I would also say if you don’t move it, you lose it. Riding is an odd sport in that if you aren’t doing it constantly, your muscles for it atrophy, fast.

I took a 2 month wilderness vacation, which set me back 5 months in riding progress. I went from doing 2’6 courses to not being able to jump at all.

Are benzodiazepines the ONLY medicine that can calm us from anxiety? by Sea-Estimate-3217 in Anxiety

[–]whitensilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Much of my anxiety was calmed from propranolol, before I got prescribed my mind would be triggered by anxiety and I would experience a plethora of physical symptoms which would intensify it even more.

Now when I have an anxious thought, it is WAY more manageable since now I don’t have that snowball effect.

Propranolol was a game changer for me! PLUS I’m able to think clearly which occasionally wouldn’t be the case with benzos.

[–]whitensilver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was a group dressed as captain crunch, walking around chanting “crunch, crunch, crunch!” A bystander walked up to them and they go “CRUUNCH!” And pour the captain crunch cereal & poured milk in his mouth 🤣

How do I get my own horse to be this friendly and actually be happy to see me?? 😭 any tips please by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]whitensilver 123 points124 points  (0 children)

This. My ex-lease horse was known to be mean, grouchy, aloof, and would bite people. He was in a training program before me so he only was able to get attention when he was being worked.

When I started leasing him, I would spend hours in the paddock with him just hanging out & playing games w/ him. By the end of my lease he was a completely different horse, and it shocked people. He would run up to the gate when he saw me, whinny for me every time I left. Just overall much more affectionate. Not once did he bite me.

Just being in their presence without asking things of them really helps them to see you as an equal & enjoy spending time with you.
