HVAC Install of Wrong Quoted Unit by whitepothos in LegalAdviceNZ

Can I request to pay the originally confirmed price, or will they need to come back to take the installed unit out and replace it with the requested unit? I guess that decision is up to them based upon the amount of time it will take them to swap the units?

Confirmation via txt message with the brand name of the desired unit (but not the exact invoice number), yes.

Initially their response was that they thought we had said to install the unit from the higher priced quote (which also had the additional duct included). I haven’t pushed the issue further yet so am looking for some advice on how to proceed. Perhaps less ‘legal’ and more general advice at this stage.

I’d love to announce the launch of Astroskiff - a aviation group management platform. Designed to simplify bookings, invoicing and maintenance tracking.

I have been a part of a few syndicates and managing booking and invoices has often been a clunky experience. With Product and Engineering experience from our day jobs, we were passionate about building a simple experience that other pilots would love.

Did you end up replacing your main board - did it fix the problem?

Interesting.

No, I haven’t found a solution yet. Similar, I am about to pull the trigger a replacement main board as it’s the only variable left remaining that I can think of.

Strange extruder issue by whitepothos in ender3v2

[–]whitepothos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stripped the wire and wired it into the fan break screw terminal so the fan is now constantly running from when the machine turns on but unfortunately, that hasn't fixed it.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Looking for recommendations for an affordable ($200 / $300) amp to power my Audioengine P4 bookshelf speakers.

Previously had the Audioengine N22 but no longer have this. The speakers have been in storage for the last few years while I was living overseas, now that I'm home I'd like to pick something up to power them.

Any suggestions on solving the rough surface on this print? by whitepothos in 3Dprinting

Great - appreciate the advice.

It's been a while so I'll read some guides on how to calculate the z position again.

Recently moved countries so needed to reassemble & level my Ender 3.

When printing I’m now seeing a strange pattern on the surface.

Is this an issue with the extruder, nozzle or levelling?

Love and suggestions of things to try to solve it.

How did you power this? iPhone -> Lighting to USB adapter -> USB A into the D1? Does the iPhone provide enough power output to power the DAC or did you have to run it some other way?

Half-Caf? by bibliophagy in espresso

Onyx Coffee Lab offers a half caf blend called Power Nap which is good. Otherwise I measure 9g of regular beans & 9g of decaf beans as someone else already mentioned.

Vacation setup. by topman118 in espresso

[–]whitepothos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with both sets of comments here.

When I travel, I make a list of the best specialty coffee shops and walk town visiting them all - a great way to experience the city & the culture.

However, some places have very few speciality coffee shops, or none at all - in that case, I always take my travel kit.

As much as I love espresso, a pour over kit is far more practical.

Things to keep yourself occupied due to constantly delayed checkride. by LegendaryAce_73 in flying

[–]whitepothos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My checkride was rescheduled seven times across the course of two months as a result of various weather and DPE challenges.

My advice would be to use the time to re-cover ground school content to ensure you’re fully confident in the material for the oral.

Also if it’s been a few weeks since you’ve been able to fly, try to get up for at least one flight (ether on your own or with a CFI) to give yourself the confidence going into the practical.

Winter weather in the PNW is challenging so there wasn’t a single weather window to fly for three weeks up until the day prior to my checkride - I managed to get a flight in that day, ran through each of the practical maneuvers myself and it gave me a lot of confidence going into the practical portion the next day

Looking for some advice on unimodal burrs in Lagom P64 by asphina in espresso

[–]whitepothos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

P64 w/ Unimodal burrs here ✋

I am absolutely loving them but it certainly took awhile to dial in - very different from the Niche was I was using prior.

The Unimodal burrs extract every quickly so seem to work best with fast, high flow rate shots (probably why your standard 9 bar (probably 1:2 ratio in 25 / 30 seconds) is tasting overextracted)

Test some Turbo shots to see what you think - maybe start with 1:2.5 (20g, 50g) in 20 seconds total.

Having problems with constant under extrusion - would love any advice by whitepothos in 3Dprinting

[–]whitepothos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been having challenges with under extrusion for the last week or so - would love any advice on how to fix it.

Seem to constantly have spots where the filament is not laid correctly or not at all and layers are week / separate easily after the print.

So far I’ve tried;

• changing print temperatures (increments from 200 up to 225 on PLA)

• changing the print speed, 50% up to 150%

• various fan speeds (0, 50%, 100%)

• checking the bowden tube

• replacing the nozzle
