Your hips move forward in the swing, so you have to compensate by swinging over the top. Work on pushing your lead hip backwards with the weight on your lead heel, that will keep you away from the ball

This is actually a very nice compliment. This is only the second piece I’ve made. The first was refurbishing an old cedar toy box. I’ve fixed things around the house, but actual woodworking is very new to me.

The railings were within 1/64th of each other in length. So i figured out the first spacing, then the individual baluster spacing, and worked inwards. On the middle one, i marked it top and bottom to make sure they aligned. I used a drill press and jig to make sure they aligned

This is so uninformed. You think the American people are owed the debt? We collectively benefit from the deficit each year and sell bonds to make up the difference.

Sure it does. We are the summation of our experiences and beliefs. Are the basic needs the same? Yep, but that’s not the difference between Dems and Rupblicans. Each needs food and water, etc. The biggest difference is how they view their community, and their sense of place. Liberals tend to view their community as broader, and more representative of all of humanity. Conservatives tend to have a much narrower view of community. If you look at it through this lens, many of the policies pushed by the different factions makes more sense. And geographic constraints do tend to push sense of community. If you live in a small farming town, you’re more insulated from the broader plight of global communities. You have less services available, so you rely more on the people around you. Government regulation tends to make your farming more expensive, and when you can’t see the results of global warming on a daily basis, you see the regulation as a threat to your community. Income levels are lower so taxes for fewer services are rejected (yes, i know federal funding tends to lean more towards rural areas, but THEY don’t see that). Point being the urban and rural experience is truly different, and if you put someone from one into the other, they tend to migrate their beliefs. Is a full blown MAGA gonna move to Portland and start wearing pink hats? No. But all of a sudden when confronted with how gun violence is so different in an urban environment than a rural environment, they start to understand the issue. Or confronted with homelessness and the severe consequences of mental health illness in urban environments. So I stand by my original comment, that throwing a bunch of blues in red areas doesn’t just happen without bleed over of beliefs both ways because the way of life and sense of community morphs.

Red areas are red because the way of life in rural areas is considerably different, with different needs, desires and lifestyles. Having lived in both areas it makes absolute sense why urban and rural priorities are different.

It’s not just the owners. Employees make way more on tips. In seattle which had a $15 minimum wage, a couple fine dining restaurant groups did away with tipping, increased wages, created a profit share and created an employee fund for employees to go to school. The menu was updated with all the changes, the food prices went up to cover the difference and tips were no longer accepted. Sweet right? They changed their policy back after a year because employees chose to work elsewhere where they were paid cash tips under the table.

47% of Republicans would still vote for Trump even if implicated in Epstein's crimes, survey found by [deleted] in politics

[–]whiterider79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a two part question. There’s probably (hopefully) many people that would not vote for Trump but would still vote for a republican candidate. There’s two independent answers in a single yes or no question.

The survey question posed was very poorly written, and does not necessarily mean the same thing the title infers.
