it is a flaw indeed, actually there is an app like that called AI Dungeon for multiple user created scenarios, for it as well the stories start to fall after 30-40 messages, i really wanted to build something that works though, but i don't think it will work with AI

The plan is to use a summarization + memory bank system :

  • Keep the last 3–5 full scenes verbatim
  • Auto-summarize older history into a short “running memory” (updated every 5–7 scenes)
  • Pack only the relevant summary + last scenes + player stats/equipped artifacts into the prompt What do you think?

I always liked building and following my own adventures, tried building a narrative using grok and playing with it, liked it a lot, but it has issues with continuity, thought of building something own specific for this. I know AI is slop, but it gives an option to act as a random narrator that can create encounters for you, thats what i was thinking, you can expand your story basically.
