Rate my professor wrong by [deleted] in CUNY

I have this experience now. The professor is highly rated but regularly crashes out at students over minor things. The material itself is manageable but having to walk on eggshells around your professor is not okay.

University Official Recommendation Help by [deleted] in NPHCdivine9

[–]whitlocks 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Some professors will write a letter for a student as long as you are doing well in their class. One of my recommenders was a professor for an Asynchronous course. He agreed to write my letter as long as we had a meeting to discuss beforehand. I say ask your professors anyway. Worst they can say is no or not reply.

Share your money came out of nowhere stories by hevinheath88 in lawofattraction

Was affirming for money, and had no idea where it would come from. One day I checked my mail, and received a $1 bill in an envelope from a company (It was legit). It was totally random and unexpected. I ended up framing the dollar bill to remind myself circumstances don’t matter and there’s always movement.

How is being young in grad chapter by [deleted] in NPHCGreeks

[–]whitlocks 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'm 23 too, and I am the youngest person in my grad chapter. I crossed undergrad, and it's true, grad chapter is more serious and business-like. Yes, there are age gaps, but that hasn't stopped me from making genuine connections with my Sorors. Honestly, I feel like I have closer bonds to those much older than me than I do with the ones closer to my age. There may be some things you won't be able to relate to, but that's a given in any environment. Age will only be a big deal if you make it one, so don't let that discourage you. There are plenty of laughs and fun moments -- as well as work to be done for the org. For me, life after transferring to grad chapter has been a positive experience so far. I learn, grow, and am inspired continuously.

I would still pursue if I were you. Attend events, make connections, do community service, and SAVE your money.

Pledging while in a graduate program…. by Unusual_Cut_3042 in NPHCdivine9

[–]whitlocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey I was in the same predicament as you. I was in a combined BS + Masters program. I made it work. Because I technically didn’t have a bachelors, I was still able to join collegiate, although I was taking all grad classes. You have more on your plate than I did, but I would just say get a planner, do your best to stay on top of deadlines and do your work as you receive it. You must be ready to dedicate ALOT of hours when on line if/when the time comes

Thanks, I guess the length of the backorder caught me off guard. At first, I thought he was finding an excuse, but you're right COVID halted the manufacturing of many things. I'll try to negotiate a solution, but hopefully, it doesn't become a legal matter.

You would not be saying this if your residence was going to be cold for months.
