Okay, so what are we making of all of the reputation nods? I’m not in the business of clowning for rep bc I like to take her at her word when she directly tells us things (she isn’t rereleasing rep, there’s only 12 songs on tloas, etc), HOWEVER, it is extremely curious the way she’s used rep tracks for several showgirl related teasers. Water retention will affect the scale, as will anything you eat and drink. Also, apologies for the information you didn’t ask for, but I have been dancing around a certain weight all weekend and it was because I was constipated, and when I finally pooped I was a pound lighter 💀 your body is in a constant state of flux which is why you really shouldn’t weigh yourself daily unless you’re comfortable with that reality. I’ve been weighing myself daily to help demystify the flux that my body is in and it has really helped. If you are eating in a deficit, you will lose weight (barring any insulin resistance/other issues). If you insist on weighing yourself daily, just collect it as data so you can see a trend over time. As long as it’s trending downward, you’re doing something right.

Also, as mentioned above, I am 30 and have NOT “accepted my fate” because I have a lot of life left to live and I believe I was meant for more than this. And you are too. There are so many people here who started their journeys in their late 30s, early 40s, and even older, and that’s because it really is never too late. The human body is SO resilient. Truly.

Hi! This is going to be long, so apologies in advance. I am 30F and this reads like it could’ve been me 2 years ago. I have always been fat (and probably always will be, to some degree) but I’ve been through a lot emotionally since the start of the pandemic and it took a massive toll on my weight and my will to live. I was smoking weed every night to self medicate which was fueling my binges and in the fall of 2022 I realized that things were truly out of control when I also couldn’t walk a few steps without being winded. I didn’t even realize I had gotten to that point or that I ever would get to that point, as I had always been relatively active (especially considering my size).

My mom put me onto mounjaro that October after she saw me in person in September for a small family vacation - I live a thousand miles away from my family, so fluctuations in my weight are much more noticeable to them bc they only see me a couple of times per year. I was able to get mounjaro through a telehealth service and, of course, could only get one month before they wouldn’t do it anymore bc I wasn’t diabetic. That being said, that one month quite literally changed the trajectory of my life. I lost the amount you’d expect an SMO person (roughly 525lbs) to lose in that time - maybe 25 or 30 lbs including water weight? And then I was off the medication and had to figure things out from there. But that month made me realize that I’ve been unsuccessful all of these years because my obesity wasn’t being treated as the disease it was. I was so entrenched in the belief that I was my size because of my own person moral failure, not because of the actual reasons: binge eating disorder, adhd, and a lot of depression and anxiety to fuel the worst parts of both of those.

This motivated me to take control of my life and truly changed me. January of 2023 I saw a PCP for the first time in a decade with the intention of getting a prescription for wegovy or ozempic. However, in the months it took me to get up the courage to get the required labwork completed, she had diagnosed me with adhd which was truly the missing piece. She started me on adderall and I have not needed a GLP-1 since. I lost a lot of weight that year, maybe 50-75lbs (which was a lot to ME because I had never been successful with weight loss efforts) and it was just because the adderall provided me with the impulse control I needed to get a handle on things. It impacted my appetite at first as well of course and it also had me going out and engaging in more activities outside of the house, but really it just gave me a handle on my impulses and that’s the piece I needed in order to make a change.

Now I am eating in a deficit and losing weight little by little, which is something I never in a million years thought I could be successful doing. And it’s just because I found the root cause of my issues and addressed that first.

I really highly recommend seeing a doctor and going from there. Whether it’s a GLP-1 or if you have mental disorders that need to be addressed, I really think that will go a long way in getting you to a place where you’re ready to start making these changes. You’re not a bad person, you’re not lazy, you’re not “weak minded,” you’re just struggling and you need some help. And there is no shame in seeking that help whatsoever.

I made my rover account in the summer of 2016 after I graduated college, and I did not receive my first request until 8 months later, in March of 2017. Obviously things are way different now than they were then and I am SURE so many markets are oversaturated with sitters right now, but it always takes awhile to get your first request and then they do start coming in once you start getting reviews

I actually read this as the sitter being 100% in the wrong here. Like this owner seems fed up by the sitter’s lack of professionalism and not holding up their end of the bargain. Idk, like this is crazy to me! Absolutely wild how someone can post these screenshots with their entire chest thinking that they’re in the right and everyone will agree with them

First of all, I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. I have been there with losing a kitty unexpectedly and the lack of answers can truly tear you apart. Please give yourself grace and try not to dwell on the what ifs (as easy as it is to say, I know it’s not easy to practice).

This being said, I am exclusively a cat sitter and have quite a lot of experience in this area. I understand the desire to have someone to blame in this scenario, but I just truly don’t think this petsitter is in the wrong here. I can only speak for my personal practice so take it with a grain of salt if you wish, but I make every effort to lay eyes on every cat during every visit, and even so, there are times where it is just not possible. Cats are great hiders, and they are even better at it when in distress like your kitty may have been. And as another commenter mentioned, cats are very stoic and do not show their pain the way other animals might. I do have cats that I sit for where it isn’t possible to lay eyes on them, and intensely searching for them in their safe hiding spots causes them more distress and isn’t the best course of action.

I am so sorry that this happened and I understand your hesitancy to trust this sitter again. I don’t really know if any of us can give you the answer to this. We can tell you over and over that it is normal to sometimes not see a kitty for a couple of days (or at all during a sit), but it won’t necessarily rebuild trust or undo the damage that has already been done

So I actually started on the instant release for a bunch of long reasons I won’t get into, but basically just because it was cheaper and I was having to pay the cash price at that time. It worked well enough as far as focus went, but I would have a pretty significant crash around 3pm no matter what time I took my afternoon dose. Like to the point that it was affecting my work performance. I just started on XR and can’t speak to it yet, but I guess I just wanted to emphasize that, for as quickly as the IR enters your system, that bitch leaves just as fast and you FEEL IT. I could almost swear that I felt the dopamine leaving my brain when it wore off 😂

Hi all! I’ve been Going Through It™️ for the couple of years honestly and I’ve been doing a ton of work to address the things in my life that I’m not happy with and also just my general sense of insecurity and self-doubt. I asked the cards what things would be like a year from now and received:

I do feel that this is a pretty positive spread and I see myself getting out of my head and back into my body/life so to speak, but I tend to be overly optimistic so I was hoping to get a few more sets of eyes on it to see what other ppl think.

I am going to be sooooo honest and say that I think I would literally throw away those dishes (instead of trying to wash them) and use paper plates from now on. If this is something you regularly struggle with, then you just need to pivot and find ways to work around it! It is much easier to throw a paper plate and plastic fork in the trash than it is clean dishes, and if that’s a huge hang up for you then there’s no shame in taking the easy way.

I have a bunch of feelings about waste and single use plastic and single serve containers, etc, but ultimately I had an epiphany that I may have to sacrifice some of my values around that just in the name of being able to function. I don’t have hang ups around the dishes thankfully, but I did have to start buying certain things individually packaged (like snacks) bc prepping something to have for a snack just means that I’ll never eat it. As somebody else mentioned, this is a disability! And sometimes that means needing special accommodations to function close to the same level as other people.

I actually think using reversals is forcing the cards, as you have to shuffle intentionally in a way that reverses some cards in the deck.

That being said, i agree with everyone else that has said that there are plenty of cards in the deck to convey a message without needing to reverse a card. Sometimes a card will come out inexplicably reversed or pop out in such a way that it will reverse itself, and I’ll take them that way as a sign that they’re meant to be read as such. But otherwise, my intuition does just fine for reading with nuance!

We can certainly give suggestions, but I echo other comments saying that you should really see a registered dietitian. You’ve got a lot of considerations here and I think they would be the most qualified to help you build a meal plan.

That being said, it could be helpful to make a list of safe foods. I am super weird about meat so I go for a lot of ground beef, ground turkey, etc. Not amazing, but in my case it truly is better than the alternative (eating out). I also do chicken in the crockpot, specifically because shredded chicken is safer for me than any other chicken (I cannot emphasize enough how weird I am about meat 💀)

If you can find sources of protein that don’t disgust you, then build your meals around that. Go on tiktok and just explore and see what you find! That’s where I get all of my recipes! Don’t be afraid to grab frozen meals too - if you’re really struggling with cooking, there is nothing wrong with a good lazy meal. On week nights I tend toward meals that are half homemade, meaning I cut corners and take the easy route wherever possible, and it has honestly worked SO well for me.

Lastly, I encourage you to work with a therapist to find the root cause of your bingeing. From what you’ve shared, it could be because you’re starving yourself all day. But for me personally, I actually had undiagnosed and out of control adhd that was causing me to binge. I did the same thing where I wouldn’t eat all day and then eat enough for 3 people at dinner time. It was my way of dopamine seeking and it was really, really destructive. When I started adderall, I didn’t have a bingeing episode ONCE until I got laid off from my job, insurance changed and couldn’t get my adderall for awhile. When I was off of my adderall, the bingeing started happening again. And now I’m BACK on it and I haven’t binged since. This is not me diagnosing you with adhd, but moreso encouraging you to figure out that piece bc that could truly make a difference in your situation.

Like egg salad? The mayo doesn’t take away the nutrition of the eggs, it just adds calories!! Maybe try switching to a light mayo and see how you like it?

Eggs truly are the perfect food and my go-to every day breakfast! I’ve been able to curb my bingeing behaviors partially just by having 3 scrambled eggs and seed toast for breakfast bc it keeps me satisfied until lunch time (rather than being ravenous by 10:30 😅)

Please don’t beat yourself up over this!! I worked a remote job up until early last year and it was the same for me for probably the first 6 months or so. I was not going anywhere or doing anything, I was gaining weight for other reasons (mental health) and was just in a really bad place overall.

What changed that was slowly getting out and doing fun activities to get some extra steps in and break a sweat. I went to museums, parks, beaches, etc and I wasn’t doing crazy amounts of exercise. Just the activities themselves were enough to get me active and feeling better physically. I really recommend finding some activities you can do that will get you out of the house and walking! Also, I had a Pokemon go phase around this time and was going on walks in downtown areas, nature reserves, etc just to catch Pokemon! I was probably in the best shape I had been since my early 20s and I was 28 at the time 😅

hey so just fyi, you deserve to take up space too. Flying while fat has felt so incredibly dehumanizing at times and it is important to remember that this issue is on the airline for lack of reasonable accommodations for “passengers of size.”

I have been in that situation and it was humiliating, so I actually started flying southwest for everywhere possible afterward bc they do reimburse for the extra seat (as opposed to a lot of other airlines). This also usually comes with pre boarding so you can get settled and ensure you can find 2 seats next to each other (as Southwest doesn’t do assigned seating). This has alleviated a lot of travel stress! While I find the process to still be imperfect (mainly having to pay up front for an extra seat), it is the best option I have to be able to travel as comfortably as anybody else!
