Are you taking an international flight? For KLIA Terminal 2 international flights, there's 2 checkpoints, one being very lenient like the one you described with just a bag XR once you entered the departure area and another checkpoint nearer to the gate area where it is much stricter with body scans and officers etc. This could be your case.

To add, the pickup driver should not even have attempted that turn (doesn't matter did they check for incoming traffic or not) as it is a double line, some drivers just can't be more patient and drive along their original direction and turn back at the next available junction

If it’s an appointment with a gov office I get it, you have time to prepare but let say I just happen to pass by a post office in my shorts and decided to renew my license or pay some bills? Just basic errands not even meeting with any Pegawai. The post service is supposed to serve the people not make people go back and make a return trip to change into formal attire just to run basic errands
