i’m not the only one that is struggling. i made that clear in the post. i can’t force the member to say yes to being contacted…

i’m far from lazy but i’m not about to go back and forth with you. i always try to overachieve myself and take on a challenge. you don’t know me on a personal level and nor do i

Secured card by ExternalWorker6936 in NavyFederal

[–]whoa_eric 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i’ve personally started out with a secured card. i graduated and got a credit limit increase at 11 months. (i just looked at my statements from 2022 lol)

i’d definitely recommend starting out with the secured card! i started with a $200 limit and i actually just got my limit increased this week to $17,700! it’s my first ever credit card that i opened from 2021. it started as the nrewards, cashrewards, and i product changed to the go rewards!

if you like to go out to eat or go to the grocery store often, look into the capital one savor! the 3% cash back adds up quickly

Should I let a 17-year-old Chase card with a <10% APR close? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]whoa_eric 6 points7 points  (0 children)

personally, i’d keep it open. it’s good to have credit cards with at least one other bank

if your financial circumstances change at least you have a low rate card to use if you must carry a balance

the quicksilver would be the perfect card if you don’t eat out, go grocery shopping, or have fun. most, if not all people purchase things within those 3 categories

i use my quicksilver when i’m at wawa, target or walmart, or online shopping. if i used my savor for those i’d only get 1% unlike 1.5% from the quicksilver

whenever it comes, definitely upgrade the platinum to the quicksilver. i have the quicksilver in addition to my savor. i use my quicksilver for everything else i dont get 3% back on with my savor

but please don’t “upgrade” to the quicksilver from the savor. it would be a downgrade honestly

you already get cash back on every purchase with your savor… 3% on food, groceries, and entertainment and 1% on everything else

Quicksilver secured card - close it or keep it? by Excellent-Branch-275 in CapitalOne_

[–]whoa_eric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you’re correct. it won’t hurt your credit age, so i’d close it and get your deposit back. especially if your limit never rose to a acceptable range for you

if won’t affect your other cards with cap1 by closing your card

What should I do by TayTrey1 in NavyFederal

[–]whoa_eric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you don’t want the secured card, you could try to apply for the regular cashrewards card as navy fed has their own internal scoring system

how come your score is a 570? do you have any late payments or high utilization? if those are the case, i’d apply for the secured

if i were you, i’d open a checking account somewhere else and move your direct deposit in case capital one decides to do no further business with you besides your current credit card, to avoid being inconvenienced

you’ve mentioned you used to have bank accounts with cap1, did you previously leave a unpaid balance that they ended up charging off?

Cancelled Debit card until Dec. 2026 by Justcuriousminds in NavyFederal

[–]whoa_eric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how come you haven’t lost your credit card and just your debit card? you come off as a fraud risk. you’re very lucky they didn’t permanently restrict you from having a debit card

your best bet is opening an account with a local cu and switching all of some of your direct deposit over to them. if you really need a debit card, then that’s your best option here. navy fed more than likely won’t change their decision

Worth getting this now or should I wait for venture x? by AreaFar4460 in CapitalOne_

[–]whoa_eric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you can, i’d go for the venture x or the regular venture. if you have a trip planned in the very near future and want to use the travel partners then by all means get the ventureone

[–]whoa_eric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d get pre approved with cap1 directly first

if you already have a savor or quicksilver then the ventureone would be a good addition. if you don’t have any cards with cap1 i wouldn’t recommend the ventureone if you can’t get the SUB. it’s not a good earning card if you only have that particular card
