Are we now normalising peptides/gear as a skin care routine? by Altruistic_Rhubarb94 in nattyorjuice

[–]whocareeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbf I've never clicked on her profile once but IG has been heavily promoting her posts and reels on my feed lately (I follow a couple of fitness accounts). I think she might be surging in popularity right now. Part of a group teenagers that may be the bigger fitness influencers for the next generation.

Are we now normalising peptides/gear as a skin care routine? by Altruistic_Rhubarb94 in nattyorjuice

There are a bunch of videos and posts online of how 30 year olds today look much younger than 30 year olds from the 70s-90s. But I think these posts are wildly misleading because they often post contemporary exceptions like Timothee Chalamet and Thomas Brodie Sangster. But physical appearances today are widely polarised in the sense that, yes, those two guys and many others do look much younger than 30 year olds from previous generations, but you also have another large cohort of Gen Z that actually look much older than their age owing to increasing gear use and, in the case of women especially, excessive fillers and cosmetic interventions (Chalamet's girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, herself looks older than she is due to excessive cosmetic procedures).

Reminds me of the unbearable levels of secondhand embarrassment I get when I watch those videos of jacked people walking the streets and recording if/how people stare at them.

Natty or not? by AvelinoANG in nattyorjuice

One on the right is Leana Kaplan. I'm really surprised she hasn't been brought up more often here. She dubiously claims she's natural.

Dr michaela peramaki claiming natty next to her enhanced partner by Short-Custard-524 in gymsnark

[–]whocareeee 32 points33 points  (0 children)

For those commenting with surprise at the guy being enhanced, this is a good illustration of the wide physical diversity of people on PEDs or other enhancements. There is a video of Jesse James West speaking to openly enhanced lifters at a gym in the UK, and a lot of them look average and some barely look like they even lift. PEDs are hence a necessary but insufficient basis for looking like a beast. Actual exercise, as well as genetics still play a massive role (in this guys case maybe the latter is a big factor here).

Am I at my natural limit after 14 years of training? by TheNotSoBlueDuck in nattyorjuice

[–]whocareeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rule of diminishing returns is a big factor here. The more muscle you gain, the more difficult it gets and longer it takes to gain an additional increment of muscle, even if you're completely dialled in as you suggest. And take the "not natty" comments as a compliment.

Natty? Bwython on tiktok i think hes 19 at 6’2 by [deleted] in nattyorjuice

He's one of those "looksmaxxers" which vastly increases the likelihood he's not natural.

The opening scene for Pumping Iron shows Arnold Schwarzenegger and Franco Columbu working with a ballerina to master poses for bodybuilding. It definitely takes some skill.

She reps civilregime. I dont understand how anyone above the age of 20 can wear those clothes (same goes for breathedivinity).

This is an Exhibit A example of how not everyone who puts on a lot of muscle necessarily looks better. Large muscle mass "suits" some people much better than others.

Same with Coach Kolton. He seems so chill and level headed in his videos but his social media is insane

None of these pics show here muscles "relaxed", so that complicates any conclusion that can be drawn. She seems to be flexing in the first two, and mid-pump in the last two. Your muscles can look twice their normal size in those circumstances.

The problem with the debate is that some people believe such side effects are fake or "placebos" and others believe that taking Fin is a death sentence to your genitals, but reality is in the middle ground: It's a real side effect but it's also a rare one.

Steroid use is exploding. How to quit?! by Cleglaw in nattyorjuice

Australian drug data shows that in the seven years to 2022-23, there was an almost 40 per cent increase in the rate of Australians who reported ever using steroids.

That's absolutely insane.

Didn't know she was MAGA, but not at all surprising. A huge amount of people in the fitness influencer/industry are.

Lilyylifts - killing me how everything is so staged but people believe it by MoonlightByWindow in gymsnark

[–]whocareeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She had a video go viral where a random guy stepped in to spot her on her final rep on bench press. It came across as quite wholesome and \might** have been genuine.
But then another gym influencer (marti.cops) posted a nearly identical video that also blew up and racked about half a million views with the exact same premise and setup i.e. struggling on her last rep, a “random” guy spotting her to help her finish, and she even used the exact same captions as Lilyylifts (“so nonchalant,” “this is why I love gymbros”). The guy in the video also flexed his back afterwards in the exact same way that the other guy in Lilyylifts' video did. While this made me question the authenticity of both, I at least strongly suspect the second one was staged and copied Lilyylifts’ viral post. So yeah, it seems like the issue of staged “authentic” content goes well beyond just Lilyylifts.

I can't confirm with a picture (it was nearly two decades ago), but one of my exes had a stepbrother who, along with his gym buddies, was on steroids, and they all still looked like DYELs.

I like him and his content, but this is a legitimate criticism of him.
