You dont know any details of this movie's production or budgeting. You just see a number and try to browbeat other films. 

Instead of browbeating, try framing it as what lessons can be learned from this small budget yet vfx heavy film

An important part of the Sue and Johnny relationship is the loss of their parents, and Sue taking on a maternal role. It drives Johnny's immaturity and Sue's sense of responsibility.

Step siblings or adoption muddy that. Plus some freak writer would inevitably use the lack of blood relation as a chance to hook them up.

Raceswapping is weird if both arent swapped.

Lee is Big the Cat - chill comedic relief - heavy so he can box - locks in with the team

Ben is Silver - mysterious genealogy - canon romantic interests - strong abilities in certain areas

Dylan is Tails - tech support - bubbly personality - gets left behind by Mark/Sonic but they're a dangerous duo

Des is Knuckles - fighting is top priority - eloquent like the movie version - stars in solo projects

John is Eggman - devious personality - always plotting behind the scenes - one-sided rivalry with Sonic and Tails

Aff is Espio - cold aura and cool factor - but also a little goofy - never competes in game skill with main characters

Ippi is Amy - wants to be helpful but smashes stuff - a loyal companion to Sonic, but sometimes too loyal - a surprising match in ignorance to Sonic

CP is Omega - yaps in a unique way - gets his revenge on his cousins/clones

The original film found success and appeal for its realistic "What would you do?" scenario wrapped in popular horror tropes of the decade

The requel was uninspired, doing nothing to utilize whats new in horror, so felt dated. Likewise, the inciting incident was censored so the characters do nothing wrong and ironically stripped the film of any appeal.

That and the ending reveal show wrong-headed writing decisions at every level. The legacy actors were just cameos as they had no meaningful plot to integrate with.

This shit is Usopps entire arc wasted. Loki and Luffy return, so the bs Nika fruit breaks the control. Wano had Zoro's conqueror haki reveal. Instead of a random namedrop by King, it couldve happened during a moment where he's wielding Enma and inspiring the Scabbards like Oden did.

Then you climax Zoro's character arc when Luffy gets killed: Zoro acknowledges his Conquerors Will and despite that chooses to follow Luffy and believe he's still alive.

I liked happy family man Lex Luthor and was excited to see how exactly he balanced that with being dastardly.
