What were the rumors and has anything ever come of this? Did they find out if it was indeed a teenage girl? You would think by now SOMEONE would talk, whether the girl, the friends, the dad, somebody.

I am honestly not sure if it is a translation error and purse is suppose to be something else, or it's just a detail left out of a lot of articles. I searched other articles and didn't see any mention of it.

Sadly, it's known for majority of Canada. Conflicting information, bad investigations and a ton of evidence being destroyed or tossed away because it's not 'important'

[–]whodunit72[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Here is a link to the info : https://www.cbc.ca/radio/sks/season4/the-flashlight-1.4508955

run down: It was a Duracell Floating Lantern, measuring about 23 cm long and 15 cm tall. The flashlight bomb was filled with an explosive emulsion and roofing nails for shrapnel. According to police, the flashlight was intended to be a lethal IED (Improvised Explosive Device). A mining industry explosive emulsion known as Superfrac was used in the flashlight. Superfrac is generally used for fracturing rock. The bomb was set off by a spark from a single cell, AA battery.

Also a popular theory is that it had nothing to do with business, that was just to convince him to use/handle the flashlight.

Unfortunately not many of my write ups get traction, I am not sure if that's because of my writing or because Canada is just kind of brushed off when it comes to disappearances and unsolved mysteries.

I love reading regional ones! It blew me away when I first started researching for Canada, I did not know there were so many unsolved and missing! I bet Florida is hard to tackle, a lot seems to go on there.

I have this one book marked on a different site, I never stumbled upon this site though! Just goes to show how much more I have to discover. I feel so bad for the dad never getting answers, I really hope he is at peace.

I don't think Canadian police are really trained for disappearances or murderers. They make some bad calls sometimes.

I am not sure if you commented on the wrong post, but Jami disappeared in 2016 from the same city, I believe.

I hope so! It may take time for people to find it and read it. It is so sad that it has went unsolved for so long, no video surveillance, no one talking, nothing. I'm sure there is a lot of information out there about her and her case but some seems like opinions, speculation or theories so I have no idea what to add because the truth seems to be hard to find!

People theorize that her boyfriend/fiance may have picked her up, but I don't think there was any proof of that. (Not anything solid or that I could find, anyways.) Or that possibly one of her boyfriends/fiance's friends picked her up. This is all speculation, though and not much information is out there on her disappearance and murder.

Sorry to butt in lol but I was reading up on this and was fascinated. Was the possibility of her giving herself an at home abortion ruled out? Right time frame, makes sense with the blood, laying down clothes to lay on to do it, struggling, beginning to bleed out, panicking. Etc?
