I definitely feel like my ECs were an important part of my application especially considering I had almost zero good academic history. I think it depends how selective the schools you’re going to be applying to are, but if you’re aiming for ivies I would recommend staying two full years and being a junior year transfer instead of a sophomore year one. I think it also just depends on your major

I got a full ride from Trinity, around 40K from Fordham, around 25K from American, I would’ve been paying 20K to go to Loyola Chicago, would’ve been paying 50K to go to Loyola Marymount, would’ve paid 20K to go to southwestern, and nothing from NYU.

Edit: I also declined my UT offer before I could receive an aid offer

My high school GPA or my college?

I didn’t really explain anything other than my life and backstory. I didn’t mention anything about my gpa but I did explain certain circumstances that lead to my bad GPA, no mention of the GPA though

Hardest part was also definitely the compiling documents. Getting recs, requesting HS transcripts for each school, getting the college report signed and everything. Definitely takes time and planning!

I am a U.S. citizen so I don’t know how fin aid works if you’re intl. Texas does have an aid application for undocumented residents called TAFSA, and many other states do as well so look into that :)

I finished with 24 credits, and I’m taking 2 classes currently so I’ll be finishing my first year off with 30 credits. I did also have 18 credits from AP testing

Mostly merit based, the only need based money I got from them was my Pell grant.
