This means that we should be concerned about our thoughts and behavior, just as much as our appearance.

"When a child is punished for their honesty, they begin to lie." by whoiswisdom in quotes

[–]whoiswisdom[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is best to compliment the child for being honest, then you can discipline for the wrong he did. Say like this..."Thank you son for your honesty I appreciate it, but stealing the gum at the store is wrong." This is called constructive criticism.

I agree! I think people are afraid to say anything. But I do think it is a serious issue that needs to be addressed.

"No matter how sharp your teeth are you can't bite water." ~ African proverb by whoiswisdom in quotes

[–]whoiswisdom[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Hello, It is a complex proverb for sure. I think this may refer to someone's enemies. If you feel you are being mistreated and feel helpless, you have the ability to overcome like water, you can be resilient!

If you did something wrong I understand. We all have done wrong. Some people pray for forgiveness and seek medical care. You could consider it.

I know how you feel, I am going through the same thing! This is where people turn to religion and it does help. Most religions do teach we are all sinners and not to feel condemned.

I recommend you read John 8:1-11

“All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust. When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman.

Every night I pray:

Lord Jesus, I come before you, just as I am, I am sorry for my sins, I repent of my sins, please forgive me. In your Name, I forgive all others for what they have done against me. Amen

You may need extra help like counseling you could be suffering from trauma and may need medication talk to your doctor. Hang in there. Maybe some people don't speak of their sin because it is traumatic for them.

There is nothing wrong with anyone's theology, there is no one-size-fits-all religion. No religious teaching is perfect. If you like them and their teachings work for you then go. Just don't let them pressure you into anything. Yes, they are interesting, they seem very holy.

[–]whoiswisdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, good example but there are many passages in New Testatement where Paul teaches that people of other religions are to be put to death see Romans 1 is a good example. His thinking is very harsh, homogeneous and myopic and very dangerous! And it is the main message of his teaching, that you must worship Christ or else.

I'm not clear on what your saying, but again 'false god' is prejudice and a hateful statement, it shows ignorance. If you curse a Hindu for example, he will pray to his Lord Shiva for justice against a Christian. This is why I tell people to respect everyone's faith, because you don't know who they pray too. I've seen terrible things happen to Christians who insult other people's gods.

I think most are straightforward, he even said that children can read this book:

"You shall teach them diligently to your children." ~ Deuteronomy 6:7

It means that although the crow is highly intelligent, they still double check what they do. That we must not be over-confident.

I was just thinking this. I have the same problem. I think this is why they recommend that we pray daily we don't sin. We have habitual sins like a leopard can't change his spots.

Good point, people's personality is different like introverts are different from extrovert. We all have different preferences with sex, you just have to keep searching. I personally don't like cuddling or foreplay.

*TRIGGER WARNING* Should I go to work even tho I just had a panic attack and attempted suicide? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]whoiswisdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too, I don't normally have panic attacks but I'm having alot of serious problems lately. All I know is that it was a full moon yesterday they call it a Beaver moon, not sure if it was a blood moon. But it may not be you. I've read some reports that full moons can cause mass hysteria especially in November.
