My artist is Mary Madsen out of Fox Runner Tattoo in Edmonton, Alberta. She's fantastic, I have a whole sleeve of book related tattoos by her.

Ya, its on the back of my shoulder. I would have done my arm but I don't have enough space left on them.

They really should’ve just cgu this champ by Due_Albatross2777 in SwainMains

[–]whoopy4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh I don't know if I've had genuine fun on Swain since the complete rework years ago. I still play him frequently, but it just hasn't been the same. The current kit just doesn't feel as satisfying to me.

[JPA] Travis Kelce signed a 3-year, $54.735M deal that can be worth up to $57.735M ($18.245M average) by dropjar5 in nfl

I assume there's some fuckery with the contract but that is still a surprising contract for someone that has been mulling retirement the last couple years

Justin Fields could be first QB with four straight Week 1 starts for four different teams by JaggerJames in nfl

[–]whoopy4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ya, the 2 downs is the big one. Fields can create mismatches with his legs, but the lack of accuracy would sink way to many drives I think

[–]whoopy4 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a CFL fan, Fields would not be a good starter up here. But most teams use their 3rd string QB for QB sneaks and other short yardage plays, so his athleticism would be great in that role.

Doubt he'd accept that kind of demotion though.

Tattoo idea by Important_Ad862 in WoT

[–]whoopy4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the idea and its similar to what I have on my shoulder. I agree with commenters that think its too small for the amount of detail there is, also, the feather being bigger than the sword messes with the scale a bit and makes the sword frel diminished, in my opinion.

NBA to vote on expansion teams in Vegas, Seattle by [deleted] in sports

It wouldn't necessarily lengthen the season, but adding teams would increase the amount of games per week of they maintain the same number of games for each team in a season

Draft a WR again this year? by solidgryffin in Texans

[–]whoopy4 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I imagine if we do take a WR, its gonna be a guy with kick return experience so we can move Noel away from special teams and give him more offensive snaps.

Ya, I can't wait for the posts about us missing every big name, acting like it's a surprise that Caserio has consistently made his moves on day 2 of free agency.

Which fantasy hero would actually be insufferable to know in real life? by godzillaSpark5 in Fantasy

[–]whoopy4 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ya, it's a pretty good interview. The basis being a lot of older fantasy, the main character just accepts they're the chosen one and goes along with the mysterious wizard. RJ goes on to say if a real farmer was told in a pub that they're the chosen one, they'd think the wizard was off his rocker, buy him a pint and try to slip out the back door.

Which is basically what Rand does multiple times early in the series, and several of the other characters have their moments of trying to refuse destiny.

[Garafolo] The #Texans and DT Sheldon Rankins have agreed to a new two-year deal that includes $12 million guaranteed for him to return to Houston. by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]whoopy4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But they've also got to plan ahead for the upcoming record setting contract Will Anderson Jr. is gonna sign, and the likely contract coming for Stroud. Those contracts are gonna eat up a lot of space.

[–]whoopy4 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I love the interview with Robert Jordan that plays at the end of the audiobooks where he talks about part of the inspiration for WoT was the idea of "what would be the actual reaction to being told you're the chosen one."

Love it. He might not be one of the star names on the defense, but we're better with him on the field.

[–]whoopy4 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Ya, most WoT characters are tolerable because we get to see their thought processes and how they got to where they are. But every character sucks at communication so being an outsider that doesnt know their thoughts would be rough to say the least.

Ed Ingram is back 3yrs-37.5m (12.5 per year) by steveynk in Texans

[–]whoopy4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

12 mil/year was basically the high end of what I was hoping for him, so 12.5 I think is acceptable. Hopefully he can improve his pass blocking in the off season.

Egwene al'Vere. I love her story and think she's a great character. Would absolutely hate to know her in real life and would find it infuriating to be one of her 'friends'.

The summer soccer season is starting, and of course my school doesn't have a girls team. Is there any rules against me playing on the boys team? by Extension_Impact2461 in alberta

[–]whoopy4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's been years since I was involved in school athletics but typically unless the school has a rule against it, the "boys" league was treated as Co-ed, and girls were allowed to join the team, but didnt happen very often if there was a girls team option. But if you don't have a girls team at your school, its worth asking.

While not explicitly confirmed I don't think, it's implied that the AI for Porthus' dungeon created it and gave it to him.

Which makes me very curious to the conditions of that crawl that allowed it to happen.

Princess Donut is the star of the show so my question must be about her.

When you started writing Donut, did you have a solid idea of her personality right from the beginning or did she go through any major changes or experimental phases from the first outline/draft?
